So just to clarify and make sure I’ve got it right, Fury is just an Irishman from Ireland, but Saunders is a real Gypsy with heritage from India, right?

Basically yes, since the English travellers (as opposed to the Irish travellers) are indeed a Romani subgroup.

That being said, I am not sure how much Romani blood Sauders really has in him. The Romani that I know from Middle Europe have a totally different phenotype - black hair, dark eyes, a visibly darker skin color than your typical European - you can truly see the Indian heritage there.

Saunders on the other hand looks very much like a Brit to me - maybe the English travellers mixed a lot with the natives, whereas the Balkan Romani were more conservative. Just a theory.
