Badly!!! Floyd's reach was just insane.

          Hernandez wasn’t washed up either.
Google his interview, it’s all on record. Shane called him at 135. We’ve been over this, stop being lazy. And yes, Hernandez was done, it was his last fight.

Imagine the beauty of this fight

Floyd is great fighting backwards. If Loma gets him to the ropes, Floyd punches well off the ropes

Can you give me a quote or proof from ‘98 that actually shows Floyd pushing hard for a Moseley fight and not a quote from years later where Floyd says he wanted to fight Moseley.
In December of that year, Mayweather defeated Angel Manfredy and called out two undefeated potential opponents: De La Hoya, in a pie-in-the-sky request, and Mosley.

In February 1999, as Mayweather prepared for his third championship fight, and his first in Grand Rapids, against Carlos Rios of Argentina, he again called out Mosley.

Jack Mosley, who trained his son then, was there. So was Shane Mosley, who did analysis for TNT, in the only Mayweather title fight HBO did not televise.

Jack Mosley said the fight could happen, as long as his son made $10 million.

At the time, Mayweather and Mosley weren’t even making seven figures, much less eight.
              https://www.mlive.com/mayweather/201...e_mosleys.html

Here is the thing, there was no discussion ever about the fight happening. Mayweather was doing what the young fighter trying to make it to the top does, calling out the big names. That is not uncommon or anything. I am not saying Mosley ducked Floyd, because that is nonsense. Again, Floyd became champion at 130 in October of 1998 and then Mosley was a WW by September of 1999, and he had made the decision to move up a few months prior to that. Literally there was no legitimate chance of that fight happening.

But one thing is for sure, the guy I was responding to was talking completely out of his a$$ by saying Floyd ducked Mosley at 135. That never happened. Mosley didn't duck Floyd either, but Floyd was mentioning SSM/DLH for years. They were bigger cash cows then him at that point, especially DLH.

Floyd above 130 doesn't put anyone in a comma. He'd beat Lomachenko in 12 one-sided rounds.

Precisely. I watched boxing at the time so I know for a fact Mosley didn’t call him out.

Bob Arum offered the fight to Mosley in 1999, that’s what I know.

And why was it Hernandez last fight? Do you even know? Clearly you don’t.

                      Article from May 13th 1999;

''It's a ridiculous fight,'' Bob Arum, the president of Top Rank and De La Hoya's promoter, said. ''He should be thinking about fighting Floyd Mayweather. I don't believe a fight with Oscar is competitive in any way. For me to sell it on pay-per-view, it's something I can't do.''

Arum has made an offer to Mosley to fight Mayweather at a weight of 137 pounds. But the 27-year-old Mosley has outgrown the 135-pound division and has been struggling to make the weight.
