I'm for this. The fact these groups don't act like weight matters once you reach 200lbs is & has always been r3tarded.

The thing they aren't doing that's a problem is restructuring all divisions to a more even sensible point for max competition & fairness for those boxers of ultra high levels who can succeed in multiple divisions. And that's means we have less divisions than we currently have.

Hold on, the article is by “Ron Lewis” but cites Dan Rafael...

I don’t get it. And is Bellew mentioned as the consultant? Lol

Not unless it's a title fight, even though it's better than Herring vs. Frampton! Could we get Wilder vs. Ruiz? Not unless it's a title fight! Could we get Benavidez vs. Berlanga? Not unless it's a title fight! How about Prograis vs. Ergashev? Nope, no title at stake! How about a Thurman vs. Porter rematch? Hell nah, not without a title! SUCKS!
That's ridiculous huh. Who the hell actually fights a live body without title shot anymore. All we get as fans are 1 named person and 1 undefeated fighter from Zimbabwe or some **** that in reality has only fought guys with losing records yet the promotion will be sold as the number 3 contender for whatever org it vs the undefeated up and comer. Every match up you just named would be AWESOME fights I dont give a **** if any of them have a title at stake. Titles are irrelevant and until the general public knows that we wont get the good solid we should see

Don't mess with boxing history and tradition. Leave the heavyweight division as it is and has been since John L. Sullivan.

If anything bring back same day weigh-ins and 15 round fights. You will see weights come down real quick.

Excess size would be a handicap instead of an advantage if we go back to the old ways.

That's all good in theory but not in practise.

One day weigh ins were actually brought in for weight reasons.

Like for example, your assumptions is that maybe a guy like Jarret Hurd will move up to 160 or 168 when same day weigh ins are brought in.

But in practise it won't necessarily be like that. Hurd might just decide to have longer camps and still fight at 154lbs.

But that poses a risk of him fighting with complete dehydration without the ability to rehydrate over a night, and puts his health at even greater risk.

This was the reason one day weigh ins were brought in in the first place, because fighters back then were still trying to squeeze into weight and it was more dangerous for them that way.

One day weigh ins are much safer for the fighters.

Another weight class is definitely not a good idea.

Maybe raise the limit for Cruiser to 205lbs?

Heavyweights don't need to be fixed to get a pound for pound comparison.

It's the heavyweight division. The heavyweight champion is the champion of the world. It's the only division that doesn't need any pound for pound comparison.
