Team Lomachenko: Pacquiao Must Go To 135 - No Catch-Weight!

Egis Klimas, the manager of WBA lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (11-1, 9 KOs), made it clear that his boxer is not willing to move up to the junior welterweight limit of 140 pounds for a catch-weight bout with Manny Pacquiao...

Pacquiao could likely get down to the junior welterweight limit with no issues, and members of his team believe he can make the lightweight limit of 135 in a safe manner...

According to Klimas, the only way they would entertain a Pacquiao fight is at 135 - and they are not even interested in discussing anything even a pound over that limit...

“If we are talking 137 [pounds] and 136, no, there will be no catch weight. If he wants to challenge, he needs to come down. We are not looking to go to 140 pounds. If Manny Pacquiao wants to fight Lomachenko, he can make 135 pounds.”

It will be a ****** move for pac to move down to 140 and everybody knows, been fighting at 147 for more than a decade now.

Pac is fighting Conor at maybe 154 to make something like $60M and he earned it.

When pac goes back to fighting real boxers, he’ll be fighting at 147 again and if teo wants to win the pac lottery then he has to wait in line.

So many great options at 135, no reason for a meaningless weight jump fight, and his body won't get back down to LW again afterwards. Just sounds like a random casual fantasy fight

This would be a cherry pick gone wrong for Teo. Teo may make big bucks, but if he thinks Pac is just going to coast the first six rounds hes crazy. Pac will pop that big nose of his hard with his punches. Pac still beats this kid right now. Thurman is bigger , a better boxer and hits harder than Teo for one punch. Pac won that fight. Pac is bigger , stronger , and faster than Loma. Plus he hits with bad intentions. Teo would be hit hard and often.

Pacquaiao beat ATGs Barrera, Morales and Marquez before he got the chance at a "passing of the torch" match against Oscar. Lopez beats an over hyped Loma and we're talking about a "passing of the torch" match against Pacman? Lopez needs 1-2 more high profile wins before he should be considered a potential face of boxing.
