Yeah judges look at the effect of the punches. Canelo's so called power punches couldn't deter Golovkin or hurt him. Pro judges are supposed to look at that and not buy into the hype.Professional judges aren't interested in amateur scoring and limited punch selection when it's a major prize fight for the top 5 P4P, especially when the judges know exactly who GGG and Canelo are. Moretti could've easily had a swing round for Canelo and there would've been two 114-114 cards. Byrd's card is irrelevant if people want to say that females can't score. Majority vote only needs 2Comment

...I'm talking boxing, on a boxing forum. Asking a question about two of the 10 biggest fights in the last decade.
Trying to see how people scored them, what they were scoring etc.
I was having a discussion in another thread about the fight(s), and just remembered that whenever I've asked where Canelo had a round like that, no one has ever been able to mention one.
So I made the thread, and no one has still mentioned oneComment

Can someone find one round in either of those fights where Canelo clearly outlanded GGG, by say 2 or more punches?
And I'm talking about how many punches you actually counted, not compubox.
I've asked that question before, in other threads when commenting on how I scored the fight, and no one has ever pointed that out.
Obviously you can still win rounds when you get slightly outlanded (or even greatly outlanded, rarely), and many rounds in both fights had similar punch landed numbers, which means those 10 rounds or so are usually split.
But again -
Can someone find one round in either of those fights where Canelo clearly outlanded GGG, by say 2 or more punches?
Round 3...2nd fight.
GGG was leaking blood after just 3 roundsComment

Officially lost yes. In reality, no.
What does any of that have to do with my question about Canelo and landing more punches in any round?First, punches landed are just one of several criteria for scoring a round.
Second not all landed punches are created equal. Judges give more credence to power punches than simple jabs.
Canelo landed the cleaner more effective punches. Hence why BBB sides face looked fkd up after the fight while Canelo looked like he just finished a light workout.
Of course the impact of the punch matters greatly as well. No one is denying that; I mention that all the time, and even mentioned it in this thread.
Generally speaking though, the way to a 'clear round' is by landing more punches, and landing the better punches in a round. If someone can show me a round where Canelo did both of those, that will be a first in those 2 fights.
I don't recall anyone really caring too much about the results in the GGG-Canelo fights, even right after they happened. When you fight Canelo, you expect the robbery, so it is what it is.
I certainly never cared. At least GGG got paid and got his chance to shine. Could have done better but he still won both.
Now some people are having a hard time with Loma's recent fight, but I'm not one of them. Never really considered myself a 'fan' of his anyway, though he is undeniably great.
It is funny though, how asking a boxing question on a boxing forum, you guys try to skew as some sort of whining. Idgaf who officially won those fights. The topic was brought up in another thread, and I realized that every time I've asked that question, I've never gotten an answer.
I'm asking if there is one round where Canelo outlanded GGG by more than 2 punches. If you have one, share it. If not then stfu and move on to a thread you may have some interest in posting in, or may have some knowledge in.Comment

Leaking blood....really. Man y'all hype up some weird stuff
What were your punch count numbers in that round? I will rewatch and give mine. Iirc that was definitely a close round and Canelo landed the better combo I think, but overall punches landed was virtually identical.Comment

In which fight? Can you watch again and let me know your counts, in either round? I will watch again as well and give mine.Originally posted by MinuteMaid5Rounds 1 & 12.Comment

The funny thing is, I made 2 threads today at virtually the same time.
I had 2 thoughts pop into my head - 1) was remembering that line from Antonio Tarver to RJJ, and what a great line it was. So I made a thread about that, and about their fight. And what level each guy was at for that fight.
Then 2) in another thread, the Canelo-GGG fight(s) got brought up, as they do seemingly in every thread. I asked the question that I asked in this thread, and wanted to make a thread about it, as I have yet to find a round like that myself.
But it is nice to see all the deflecting from the question in this thread. Interesting enough, there is no deflection in the other thread, just debate. Imagine that....Comment
