I love and respect both MMA and pro boxing and the fighters in the two sports. boxing is my main sport and this is a boxing board not I UFC board. I am not on any MMA board and sure as hell would not join an MMA board and start telling them how superior boxing is to the sport they love. Yet you join this BOXING board and constantly tell us boxing lovers how superior MMA guys are to boxers. if you think MMA is so superior why don't you join a n MMA board and leave this board or at least STFU about how much better MMA is than boxing. A god damn leg is a god damn leg. Boxer's legs are just as sturdy and can take just as much punishment as an MMA fighter's legs can take, No more and no less. GTFO with that BS.
Boxers would be absolutely lost the first time they experienced a kick to their legs

Hardly an equal comparison.
James Toney was well past his prime. And McGregor was in his prime and still got knocked out by a guy with no knckouts in over half a decade who then retired. A more interesting case would be Holly Holm winning a title in UFC. There just has yet to be enough MMA guys crossing over to boxing to say for sure though.Comment

Everyone knows that Yoel rarely looks for takedowns especially in recent years. He didn't even look for them vs Izzy who comes from a K1 background. Type in 'why doesn't Romero use his wrestling' and I'm sure there will be hundreds of articles. You are factually wrong. Romero shoots for takedowns, gets them one anyone and all of his opponents are aware of it. He completely ragdolled Weidman who is a high level MMA wrestler. You have no point about Romero.
"But they still suck". Whatever you say boxing keyboard warrior.
Francis Ngannou huh, and what happened when he faced a real well rounded fighter like Stipe? He got dominated 50-45. He's lucky that he came around after all the great heavyweights before him are washed up now. JDS, Cain, Werdum, DC, Fedor, TRT Bigfoot, ALL would have beaten him.
You don't know what you're talking about. Stick to your gentleman's agreement punching sport. The most limited full contact combat sport of all, but the most corrupt and watered down for sure.
They do suck. You can say that Justin was beaten twice but he is still considered great with his hands according most within MMA.
I don't watch boxing because its like a street fight, I watch it because it isn't. Street fights are ugly to watch with crappy technique. Boxing is refined and beautiful to watch.
I'm an MMA fan by the way. I just think it wouldn't take a boxer long to make the transition (a few years maybe) because the striking in MMA is usually horrendous, they're usually chinny and have no defence.Comment

Boxing is an art form. Takes real skill and dedication. In Boxing we abhor the clinch. In MMA, if in doubt, just clinch a man, roll to the floor and hump him for 5 minutes. Nobody wants to see that. One time in a bar fight (that I didn't start, in my younger days), I missed a punch but caught the man with the point of my elbow and knocked him spark out. It was poor form on my part, and bad timing, because I was drunk. But it done the job just the same. As I say, bad timing on my part. In MMA that would have been called a "great strike!"
