Boxers would be absolutely lost the first time they experienced a kick to their legs

Whenever an MMA fighter vs Boxer fight is brought up, the argument from boxing supporters is the superior punching skills of the boxer would negate the other skills of the MMA fighter.

The truth is MMA fighters know how to take a punch, they do it often and on the receiving end of 4oz gloves so a closer approximation to a bare fist. What no boxer is used to is a swift kick to the legs which can be debilitating if you haven't spent a significant time condition your legs.

In a street fight between the the two a kick to the boxers legs would probably immediately send them to the ground.

What's funny is when people think MMA rules saves MMA fighters from getting their asswhooped in a 1v1 street fight.
This is how it would turn out 9/10 times.

Well the OP said it'd only take one leg kick and the boxer would be on the floor.

MMA fighters are usually chinny wrestlers who can’t crack an egg.

Some of the striking you see looks like something you would see in a bar fight.

Yeah thats an exaggeration. Different people have different tolerances to it. Its a dangerous weapon if you dont know how to defend it though.

Apples to oranges comparison. 8 striking points with 4oz gloves and the threat of takedown vs 2 points of striking and big gloves. Its a totally different game.

Agreed and I’m fan btw. In MMA the majority of champions and top fighters come from a wrestling/grappling background.

Fighters like Justin gaethje never even threw a punch until his 20s.

Because of this the standard of striking compared to boxing and K1 is very poor.

When you two good wrestlers they cancel each other out. Often ends up as a sloppy Muay Thai fight.
