Roman Gonzalez is still a p4p fighter

I get why people argued against him being #1 but felt he was treated a bit unfairly my the media/fans when he lost.
I felt it was especially rough given he was clearly starting too slide and lost to Sor Rungvisai who is a little beast and has his number much like Marquez had Mannys. There is no shame in losing to him.

Let me just get right to the point - He's still a top p4p fighter and so is Estrada for that matter. They're both top 10 p4p no matter what you base it upon - fighters resume, accomplishments or skill sets. They are top 10!

We need to stop putting fighters on lists which are a little silly anyway really but it gets even more so when we're chucking fighters in them purely because they're undefeated.

Like how can we pretend Inoue is ranked ahead of Manny Pacquaio or Estrada, Chocolatito etc?
Why because he narrowly beat a shot Donaire? So did many others in much better fashion. They had deeper resumes and wasn't even close to these lists.

Chocolatito and Estrada are two of the very best of this era and two of the best smaller fighters in history.

      Absolutely no doubt.

I can't wait for the rematch. Few years overdue but they're still both top notch and seemingly very equal as they were when they first met.

I loved how the commentator described Chocolatito's style last night as 'artistic aggression', beautifully summed it up.

Because when you lose in today’s boxing, you go from being the greatest fighter of all time, to a complete bum who can barely beat anyone.

Everyone loves hype, and flash and undefeated records. But rarely do these fans look deeper than that.
Not everyone, but just a large portion.

Especially a majority of spastics on this forum

Find me a prize-fighter that has been ranked top 3 in 4 weights since 2008, without retiring.

You mean Walters? Rigo? Rigo was on all those lists and Walters did not have a deeper resume than Inoue. By the time Frampton beat him I think it was accepted that Donaire was not much of a featherweight.

Donaire is a better fighter than Cuadras IMO. Now or prime or whatever.

I haven't seen Choc's fight from last night but from everything else in recent years he has looked in decline. Not shot, but showing his age. Resume is more important than eye test but how far back into Pac's career are you going? He's not the same fighter he was 10 years ago so I wouldn't factor those wins in.

What's your top 10 look like?

To be honest, Estrada and Ancajas both beat him.

Ehhh. I dont think so. He looks kinda diminished. And with his preferred style of boxing and his weight class, thats typically not a good thing..

He's still a quality fighter no doubt. He's been a joy to watch down the years.
