He's doing what Manny failed to do - which is be humble in loss but respectfully say he wants a rematch without coming off like a prick. He actually says - in English "of course I want".

Which of course negates NSB saying Loma didn't want a rematch.

Stop ****ting on legit ATG's to make Loma look better. Manny usually shows humility in defeat but if you're still making that ridiculous comparison of Lopez with Floyd then Loma's actions are very similar to Pac's after the Floyd fight: claimed he won, didn't give his opponent any credit, blamed it on the shoulder.

The only difference is, Manny stayed in the ring, congratulated Floyd and didn't ***** out of the in-ring interview.

Lomachenko should just move to 147 already. That's where the real legacy fights are anyway. Loma's body shots hurt Teofimo, that means they could hurt Spence and Crawford too.

Yeah that’s a good point on the optics. Especially with how cautious Loma was all night. There was a size difference, both my brothers said López would be about ten pounds bigger in there. Seemed about right? I don’t think it’s ever as big a factor as made out to be though. I really noticed how small Lomas feet were compared to Lopez’s though. Loma wasent even as hard as he could have been physique wise. If Loma pushed a few rounds earlier, got that cut sooner, he’d have had more of a chance. I’m happy for López. Not the best I hope to see from either though.

I actually picked Lopez by KO but came away impressed with how the smaller man in his 3rd weight division rallying for a comeback when he could’ve easily just played it safe, waiting for Lopez to tire an his power to subside!

Loma needs an extra eye an ear in the corner, his pops game plan failed him!

Lopez is 5-8 and Loma is 5-7 with Lopez having a slight reach advantage. Lopez is thicker, but that particular size criterion generally only comes into play in the trenches. Loma isn't a bulked up featherweight campaigning at lightweight. He was boiling down to 126. Size is being overblown in the case to me.

Regarding game plan, Loma did wait until he thought Lopez began to tire. It wasn't until he saw Lopez hands start to drop that he came forward and threw combos. The idea that Loma just decided to not throw punches in the beginning of the fight on a whim is ludicrous. He wanted to, tried on occasion, and got stuffed or countered.

Your previous post seem to indicate that while you picked Loma to lose by KO he still only lost the fight because he didn't try hard enough to win it. Then this post you say you're impressed with the rally in the late rounds. It just doesn't align to me.

Lomachenko should be ringside for Berchelt vs. Valdez! He should enter the ring in the post-fight and say, "I got next!" That would be a good fight, and it could set up a showdown with him and Shakur Stevenson!

Sounds like the rematch isn't happening, so Loma should just retire. If he can't beat Lopez, his career is a failure, and all the allure and excitement of watching someone "new school" who combines the best of Pacquiao (offense, speed, volume, angles, footwork), Floyd (defense, ring IQ), and Ward (inside fighting), and appears to be one of the best and most skilled to ever do it, is ruined and thrown out the window if he can't even beat Lopez and the best guys at 140 and 147 like Pacquiao did.

The main draw of Lomachenko is not just his style, but that he's supposed to be that good. That, healthy, he could not just beat Lopez, but do what he did in round 11 to Lopez all fight, and 'no mas' Lopez. That he could go up to 147 and beat Spence and Crawford. That he could beat Taylor at 140 the way he beat Campbell (but better, since that was yet another underwhelming performance and the size and reach is starting to just sound like an excuse for someone who constantly underperforms now).

I don't think the size is an excuse. In retrospect, Loma looks physically better built up, and more explosive, at 135, than ever before. Slightly slower than at 126, but way, way more powerful. And when he turned it up vs Lopez, he looked the best, speed wise, I've seen him since 126. So this is the best Loma we've ever seen, athletically. It's his skill and punch output that seem to have regressed very badly. Nothing to do with size and reach, at least that's not the main reason. He just no longer uses his full arsenal. Throw 1000 punches next time, even if he has to get up off the canvas once or twice, and he will win by TKO, IMO.

But since he no longer ever performs up to his talent level, he should just retire. And certainly, if he can't beat Lopez, he needs to retire. Just my opinion. His career isn't worth watching until he beats Lopez. And then if he loses again right after that to someone else, it's not worth watching then either. Careers that collapse before they even really get started, like GGG, Kovalev, Rigondeaux, and now Loma, really aren't worth paying attention to. All build up, no payoff. A waste of time, even by the low standards of this sport.

If he enjoys boxing and is making money then there is no need to retire. He lost to a bigger man with good skills and explosive power.

Unfortunately Loma would have the same problems in a rematch and to be more aggressive , which would have to be the case he'd be there to be KO'd .On top of his Physical advantages, Lopez proved to be a top class boxer with the IQ to match. I don't think Loma will end up taking that fight.
