I think their ceiling is 300k. That's fine. I wouldn't call it a "good ass number" doe.
main event peaked at 2.7 million. 500k could be the ceiling.

And what even would be a good ass number for boxing these days? What are typical numbers for a non Canelo/Pacquiao? Just saw that the Charlo double header did 100-120k

I get it if they run it back cuz Arum makes the money make sense, but as a fan I thought it was a clear enough win I have lil desire to see a immediate rematch. If Loma beats Devin or someone else then I would be more interested in a rematch in a year or whatever.

Immediate rematches are overrated as fook. And I hate them when they are unneeded but because of a contract it has to happen. If it wasn't THAT competitive & there isn't a contract requiring it then I reallllly don't need to see an immediate rematch.
I saw who the better fighter was or at the very least saw that Lomachenko hit his ceiling as far as weight goes. I wanna see him rebuild himself because all this hypejob talk is crazy to me. People wrote off fighters nowhere near as good to end up surprised. He'll be alright.

Teo can do whatever. Fight Haney, whoever. I saw Zepeda say he wanted the Loma-Lopez winner at 135 but I'd assume that ain't a big enough fight. He could even move up, test the waters at 140 and get acclimated to the weight for the Taylor-Ramirez winner (Taylor). I'll be watching either way.

"Klimas also informed ESPN.com that Anatoly Lomachenko, Vasiliy’s father/trainer, wanted his son to postpone the Lopez fight due to the pain he felt in his right shoulder while training. Arum was surprised to learn of Lomachenko’s shoulder injury once he was told the two-time Olympic gold medalist had surgery."

Same bad excuse, same surgeon, same promoter, but maybe this is all coincidence?

SALTWATER AND PRAYER IS ALL YOU NEED!!!

No rematch! Loma didn't want a rematch clause, he would not have given Lopez a rematch had the decision gone the other way! Tell him, like he told you: GO GET A BELT FIRST!!!

He head butted him over and over and opened up cuts on the best fighter in the world potentially marking it a problem and affecting his career and now he wants a rematch I hope he doesn’t do it because lama is such a dirty sore loser and I hope he gets what he deserves which is not a rematch

Debut PPV guys in a fight never do THAT well. Besides the big name guys who broke the PPV cherry in the late 80's I believe the record is JCC Jr vs Sergio with 500k or 600k buys iirc.

Lil guys are notorious for doing low PPV numbers. Idk that anyone under 147lbs has done 500k buys. And the lighter you are the lower the ceiling.

I think 300k is a more logical ceiling for that reason.

And I suppose it's always relative what is a good number depending on the level of the fight & how much you are spending but these days I think anything over 500k is good & over 1M makes you a star.

What’s this new “excuse validating surgery” surgery thing whenfighters lose a fight & want a rematch or a pride saver? PAC tried it with Mayweather, Wilder with Fury, and now Loma with Lopez? Give me a break! No rematch, there’s too many other good fights out there to be made

Yet both Teofimo himself and Arum are contradicting that and verifying what I said.

Rematch clauses are NOT required when it's the same promoter.

The ball is now in Teo's court.

Be like Floyd, Teo. This is your Castillo moment, young man. History will be written around the decision you make here.
Its really not. He won the fight without question and looked good doing it. There was no questionable no knock down call. Just a fight where the favorite didn't perform to level that many hoped. The boxers say it was because Lopez dared him to risk getting knocked out with counters if he got aggressive. Loma fans say it was the shoulder. History will remember what that Lopez won and then contextualize it to what happens afterwards.

To Wilder's credit, they didnt make a public announcement about his surgery until months later and he didn't even hint that it was a reason why he lost. Plus they had a rematch clause.

I think Lopez should just do it tbh he doesn’t owe Loma anything especially for the ******ity of having no rematch clause but if he really is the next big thing and has faith in himself he would shut the naysayers up and knock Loma out.
