It doesn't matter if Lopez didn't land clean he was still throwing punches and walking Loma down. The most punches Loma threw was 22 in first 7 rounds and that was in round 7. Compared to Lopez who averaged almost 40 punches thrown in the first 7 rounds. Loma was legit running away from him. Ring generalship and activity win the rounds for Lopez.

So to NSB, Loma landed nothing at all.
I usually don’t count jabs unless one Is dominating and or landing cleaner shots , he stunned Lopez with a few jabs but when you add up the real shots landed Loma won the fight ,effective aggression in this one was cleverly masked by the announcers as well on Lopez part .

What it is , is a fight Loma struggled in to impose his will and make an easy scoring fight so he fought carefully and so bec of that in everyone minds he lost the fight instead of actually scoring the fight .

Lopez is not to blame for a damn thing here. Loma lost that fight. He gave away the first 6 rounds. Any score between 6-6 and 8-4 Lopez were fine.

The young man did what he had to do, and he came on and finished the fight very strongly. Lomachenko has absolutely nobody but himself to blame.

if all of a boxer's punches are parried or land on opponent's gloves should/does he win rd? If Lopez was great and seeing Loma's strategy was not to engage much in first half, why not rush him like Loma did to him in 2nd half?

Both fighters were kind of laxative in first half. When Loma went at him in rds 8-11, Lopez either held on for dear life or pushed him away. These are the reasosn experts like Ward scored it a draw.

Once loma had shook off the ring rust he was winning near on every damn round, in a normal year where he was active and there was a crowd he would have won that easily.
