I believe Canelo had a better argument for that seed even before the Lopez matchup.

Canelo, loma and crawford were swapped in and out as p4p no.1, they all got put their by their fans, no news there and they were the top guys in the world and they each have their problems!! There was no clear no1 last few years.

I sure do... 12th sealed the deal for me... Nevermind the bogus cards, a draw was still in the books on my card going into the 12th round... That was a close fight anyway you put it and despite Loma sleeping on gas for most of the 1st half... But yeah, no doubt Lopez deserves it...

EVERYBODY expected more from LomaSTANKo, instead he turned into Slavic Broner for the whole first half! Terrified to engage and turned into a punching bag for Lopez. If they were trying to tire a young fighter out for the later rounds, Loma and his dad thinks letting Lopez do light sparring on a punching bag will work? lmao either the ******est strategy or body shots made Loma rethink his career.

The difference is Loma did his damage with the headbutt late in the 12th when he knew he had lost.

Canelo did it with punches.

Of course, he was basic. He didn't do shit. He not only spotted you the first seven rounds but he also refused to engage and exchange with you by not letting his hands go enough. If that was Loma's best then he is fucked!

I actually gave him 5 rounds, but yeah... Reviewing the fight he will probably think he should have started earlier seeing how Lopez had no answer for most of his charges ... Too little too late but he actually gave Lopez trouble at times...

What happened is that Lopez got used to the same pattern from rounds 1 to 7.

So when Lomachenko started attacking more it threw him off. And it took some time to figure it out and make adjustments.

But I think he solved the puzzle by the 12th round. He was busting Lomachenko up and looked close to dropping him.
