47??? Damn didn't think it was that many, that's more punches than loma landed in the entire fight..not sure why people think that loma won the second half..that right there shows you what obsession over an another man can do to you.

You could be right but I just don't trust CompuBox because they consider any punch that's not a jab a power punch. I'll have to watch that 12th round again though.

Shouldn't what matter be what you actually see with your own eyes? If compubox backs that up, then fine. But sometimes they are wrong, very wrong. 12th round seemed close enough but clearly for Lopez to me.

But compubox also said Jeff Horn hardly landed a punch on Manny which wasn't the case.

I'll always be curious about this fight, the stats back up what my eyes saw. Loma didn't try to win a single round until the ~7-8th. Maybe he won the 2nd depending how to count the nice punch at the end. Maybe not. Then someone woke him up and said "hey you know you're supposed to punch in boxing right?", and you saw Loma completely outbox Teo for 4 rounds, including rocking him several times, teeing off combinations that had Ward saying Loma is going for the kill.

The only interesting round was the 12th.

Its idiotic to say Loma gave his opponent anything. It does not work that way... Loma may be a very nice guy but I don't see this act of charity. Loma was neutralized by a jab, body combo with an uppercut and step around movement. Watch the fight...

Its even more idiotic to say Loma was effective. He hit Lopez Yeeees, but he was never set enough to damage the kid. Lopez, even when out of position never let Loma get set enough to cause real knee buckling damage.

And it is the most idiotic to say Lopez won rounds that he did not earn, so much as were tough rounds to score, cause Loma did not punch... No. Lopez hit constantly to the body and he kept Loma going backwards with his speed.

Loma is a great fighter, and like many great fighters from all corners of the globe, when in with the big boys, they show their limits, they get exposed in certain areas, etc...

Todd Herring was the scariest kid in the hood, in the world! like many fighters from all over the world... But as a professional fighter? barely registered a blip. Loma was a great amateur competitor, shows remarkable talent, etc... But at this level a fighter has to really have the goods to be so great that they are unbeatable...

Yup... He made a conscious effort NOT to win try and win rounds... what a ****** thing to say.

Yup he completely outboxed the kid... buckled his knees, made him hold on for dear life... Not! he threw some great combos and the kid, as a seasoned pro would do, fired back... Loma had some moments...

Kid was never rocked. he was hit in the face, and it made him angry... Lost some concentration and caught a few shots. Never in danger. Proof being the twelfth round.

So you ignore the times that Lopez was clinching and trying to hold onto Loma when Loma would go on a flurry? Lopez was either tired or he felt the power and did not want to chance it. Loma never looked in trouble with the exception of maybe the 12th round. Lopez looked to be in trouble at times and all the clinches and holding he was doing was evident of it.
