Lopez won, that's clear to me. Not because he did anything special but because Loma gave the fight away. I don't know what people think a 'outstanding' performance is. 7/44 and 7/45 punches in rounds 4 and 5, seriosly, he was punching air. Only reason that was favorable to him was his rival throwing less than 10 punches per round.
Been reading comments that he 'demolished' or 'outboxed' Lomachenko and that makes me question the IQ of the people behing those comments. When Loma decided to start the fight it was in round 8 and he clearly was the better boxer, technician and most accurate. Never did Lopez snapped Loma's head as they did to him.
I do not consider this to be ring rust or something of the sort. Lomachenko missed the strategy and it was too late for him.

This is the fight I saw too. I had it 8-0 thru 8. No round was close for me until the 8th. They landed the same number of punches in round 8, but Lopez landed more power shots and I though was the aggressor so I gave that to him. 9 and 10 were the only definite Loma rounds. 11 was actually a close round Lopez landed more power shots, but I thought Loma was more accurate and gave him that round. Obviously the 12th was the most one sided round of the fight. Lopez landing 47 power punches in that round was staggering and dominant.

The punch stats aren’t always 100% accurate. But in this case they tell the exact story of what I saw round by round.

I think what happens is when a champ is getting shut out in rounds there’s a tendency to then give them rounds later in the fight when they start doing anything at all. Round 6, 7, and 8 were these types of rounds where Loma woke up but still didn’t do as much as Lopez ImO.

Lopez threw lots of punches in the 12th but he was tired and most of his punches were wide and off the mark. Loma backed him up for most of the round and I thought his punches were cleaner and more effective. That said, the right guy won the fight.

119-108 scorecard proves that the winner of this fight was decided before it even started.

It what's you didn't see that was special. Lomachenko was unable to do the things he usually gets aways because lopez matched him in speed, body movement and beat him in power. When you have a fighter than can match you in attributes, you become ordinary.

In the 12th he got hit more than in any round in his entire career, and some still think he won the second half of the fight??? The hurt is real
