Lopez is likewise 23 years old and about to fight the current P4P champion Loma, who like Floyd is in his 30's. So where is all the crying, complaining, and excuse making...those arguing that this is unfair, that Lopez is too young, too green? All I see posted on this forum are "best fight of the year" statements... So do the excuses come before or after Loma schools him?

Objectively with Loma and Mayweather it is not the age gap it is the skill gap that you should be focused on yet that gets swept under the rug when the results are in.
huh i see plenty of people say lopez is green

you tend to notice what u are looking out for

Trinidad was champion at age 20 and by age 23 had made many defenses and had many good wins. Mayweather was champion at either 20 or 21 and by 23 was lightweight champion. Canelo turned pro at 15 and had lots of pro experience fighting old 37 year old Mayweather. Age 18 or 20 might be too young but age 23 with 8 years pro experience is not too young. a boxer of 23 years old is as fast and strong and hits as hard as he ever will. Lopez has had abut 170 amateur fights and as many pro fights as Loma. If he loses he lost to a better fighter, period.

Oh is that it, 2 lbs, that's the difference between Floyd and Canelo's skills?

I never thought age was a factor as much as weight. I can’t speak for anyone else

Maybe just maybe, neither were of consequence and Floyd is/was just a better fighter.

That seems the most likely reason

Maybe but we’ll never know that. We will also never know if Kovalev beats Canelo without a rehydration clause and a few more weeks to recover.

well at least Loma isn't a coward ass diva, and didn't force Lopez to be weight drained like a zombie on fight night

I bet Lopez will be strong on fight night and won't be passing out at the press conference, requiring a chair to sit down because of how weakened he is, unlike a certain ginger
