Okay let me be more direct.
No one's given me any reason to believe Wilder isn't trying to enforce his contract. All I've been given is Team Wilder are dragging too much ass and if Fury can fight this year he will with or without Wilder.
What's to say enforcing would help him with that or that he isn't currently?
It seems like they are arguing they have fulfilled the contract by waiting while Team Wilder argues back absolutely nothing publicly.Comment

The original deadline of Wilder's rematch clause was July this year. That was extended to Dec because of the Covid crisis.

Last month, Bob Arum announced that the Allegiant Stadium, Vegas had been reserved for Dec 19th, as a possible venue for the fight. The only word from Wilder's side since then has come from Shelley Finkel, 2 days ago, who claimed he was trying to negotiate a date in 2021, by which time the rematch clause will be null and void.Last edited by kafkod; 10-13-2020, 09:53 AM.Comment

Like I said, as far as we know Wilder is enacting his contract. Nothing here contradicts that. One side says they can fight now, the other says they can't. We will see.The original deadline of Wilder's rematch clause was July this year. That was extended to Dec because of the Covid crisis.

I'm a Wilder fan of course but that doesn't mean I want to see more sitting on ass and no fighting. Id' rather watch Fury vs Rivas or whatever than nothing, it just seems like a lot of talk atm though.Comment

His contract expires in Dec. Are you saying he might suddenly pop up and threaten Fury with legal action unless he fights him this year?Like I said, as far as we know Wilder is enacting his contract. Fury intends to take an interim fight in Dec, then go straight into the big one vs AJ next. If he fights Wilder again it will be as a voluntary, nothing to with the rematch clause.Last edited by kafkod; 10-13-2020, 10:32 AM.Comment

He just explained to you a deadline ? How is it possible you don’t understand this and don’t get Wilder not saying anything is as good as a decline if he is not announcing press conference events and such or his team ?Like I said, as far as we know Wilder is enacting his contract. Nothing here contradicts that. One side says they can fight now, the other says they can't. We will see.

Maybe you just don’t understand it’s October 13th already ? Hopefully you at least know it’s 2020 ? HaComment

Of course it doesn't.
Listen, he exercised his rematch clause within 30 days of his loss.
The promoters, not Wilder, have pushed back the dates.
So, if there is an expiration date in the contract (and no one has explained exactly how THAT works vis-a-vis postponement due to the pandemic), then it's the promoters who have caused the clause to expire, not Wilder.
I'm no lawyer, but I'm guessing there's plenty there that's enforceable, if that's what Wilder wants.Comment
