Linares was never lineal champion. When he won the Ring belt he was ranked #2 at TBRB and Crolla was #5.

The lineal title has been vacant since Crawford moved up.

Lomachenko isn't the lineal champion yet. The lineal lightweight title has been vacant since Terence Crawford vacated it in 2015.

Lomachenko vs Lopez is for the vacant lineal title since they're both ranked in the top 2 by TBRB, BoxRec, The Ring, ESPN, etc.

Lomachenko is The Ring champion from his win against Linares, but at that time Mikey Garcia was still ranked at lightweight and nobody had Linares over Mikey.

Unifications have nothing to do with lineal status.

At TBRB, Crolla was #5 and Linares was #2 when they fought. The only way to establish a new lineage is if the unanimous #1 fights the unanimous #2.

Crawford became lineal because he and Beltran were both unanimously top 2 at TBRB, The Ring, BoxRec, etc.

Nobody except The Ring had Linares vs Crolla as #1 vs #2. That's why it was a Ring Magazine title fight but not a lineal title fight.

Crawford vs Beltran was for the Ring AND the Lineal titles because everybody had them both top two.

Gary russell jr was a great win for loma. Best win in my opinion.

You’re still not addressing the egregious boneheaded decisions being made by the WBC who has a champion in Devin Haney and after devaluing their own belt for a belt that isn’t even real, is now degrading their own champion by saying he doesn’t even have the real belt despite Loma dropping the belt for a fake belt!
