fanboy doesn't mean you are young. It means someone who is a fan of a boxer and is blind to any facts that may point to that boxer not being the best boxer ever.

There were a lot of Wilder fans on this site who suddenly went very quiet when he lost.... That's another reason fan boys suck - as soon as their guy loses they jump ship.

I was a Fury fan but as soon as I saw him fighting bums while claiming to be the best HW of the era - I got on his case. This is Fury's chance (now the Wilder fight is off) now to show us he is a legit fighter - so let's see who his next opponent is. Will it be a top-10 opponent or someone useless?

I said yesterday after looking at the WBC top 15 there were 4 names I would think would be in the mix. Rivas, Ajagba, Hunter or Kabayal. Most the others have fights lined up ( that could change if Fury offered). Ortiz & Ruiz would demand a sizeable purse & doubtful either would take a Fury fight on short notice. Ruiz is nowhere near fighting shape. Rivas has already said he would jump at the chance so he is in the running. Ajagba is top 15 & normally wouldn't be anywhere near a title shot but he would be foolish not to take it if given the opportunity. The fighter has to be willing to accept a moderate purse & take the fight on short notice in England. Kabayal has a win over Chisora but is unknown so I think he will be considered but not sure he would be the first choice. Hunter has a few names on his resume & he's been willing to go overseas on short notice to fight. He probably would accept a moderate purse for the chance at a title. He is a small HW so I think he would be the likely target given the circumstances. He battled Povetkin to a draw who just knocked out Whyte & beat Tyson't cousin Hughie a few years ago so he might not be a complete unknown to the UK fans. Hunter is my pick to be the opponent if Wilder 3 doesn't happen...

Povetkin failed a drug test that is why the Wilder fight didn't happen & no other reason. Fury beat Wilder & Klitschko in their own backyards. Hardly think he avoided anyone. He was obligated to fight Wilder a 3rd time or vacate. Breazeale actually was in the top 3 of the WBC & won a final eliminator over Eric Molina to get his shot. Let's not forget Whyte turned down a title shot at Joshua & refused to go to Bulgaria to fight Pulev in a IBF final eliminator after Hearn lost the purse bid. Hughie Fury took the fight instead being the next ranked opponent. Povetkin got popped a second time shortly after he was reinstated before an eliminator with Stiverne. That was a fight he could have easily won (Stiverne was done)& put himself in the mandatory spot again for Wilder. Povetkin dropped the ball failing 2 drug tests & it cost him his chance at Wilder twice. Nobody to blame but himself.

But somehow wilders team compensated podvetkin with $5mil. There must be something missing in your story. Why would the court asked wilder to compensate him if he did no wrong?

I don't know anything about compensation given to Povetkin. I think it was the other way around was it not? I know they sued each other but I'm pretty sure Team Povetkin had to compensate Wilder. Hey I could wrong but I don't remember any money going to Povetkin. If you can get a link up that would be cool as I'm not exactly savy on the keyboard...

I found the court decision. Wilder wanted his 4.3 million purse but the court of appeal denied him so Team Povetkin did not have to pay & their counter suit was denied as well by the court. So in the end nobody got paid... Couldn't post a link

The articles are all over the map. The one i tried to post last night said Povetkin won his appeal after Wilder won the first case & then Povetkin’s counter lawsuit was dismissed as well. When i post it here it blocks out the link. It doesn’t really matter at this stage of the game. However it was the WBC who wouldn’t sanction the fight because of the short notice failed drug test regardless of the outcome later. Smiles..... Hez achieved a bit in boxing compared to some fighters. Once a champ, had 2/3 title fights despite his size.

Fury won't want Hunter after what happened with Cunningham. Rivas is a respectable opponent but then again he hasn't beaten anyone (and certainly isn't ready for Fury) and all the Fury fans were saying he was no-one when Dillian Whyte fought him. So yes it will be Rivas lol. Least he's top-10 level tho. No surprise either Fury is offering the fight on short-notice....
