Each promoter knows what the others are doing. Besides, PPV is dying. No one outside of Canelo, Pac, Floyd or a couple of HW's is going to crack a million or more. Spence vs. Danny might pull 400K. It's a good fight, but so is the Campbell scrap. As a fan I'd like to see fights get staggered out a little bit.
KingRy/Campbell doesn't even have a venue booked. Sure they know what is going on, but until things are finalized what does it matter? Promoters put a hold on venues ahead of time all the time and then don't end up fighting there on that date.
Might pull 400k and actually think that would be a bad thing? PBC would be ECSTATIC if it pulled in 400k. Do you know how much revenue the PPV would generate if it does 400k buys?

By today's standards 400K is good numbers. Also depends on how much they charge for the fight and if there are any good undercards that are eating into that. If it's about $75 a pop, then it will be a lucrative fight for each of them. They are both top tier WWs so they deserve a good payday.

They sold 275k with Spence and Porter in a unification fight. That was without another rising star competing on the same night. They'll be lucky to sell over 150k. 20$ vs 80$. Easy sell for DAZN.

PPV price isn't going to change, will be $75 just like the Charlo PPV and the Tank PPV.
400k buys would have been good at any time. People just think because Floyd and Pacquiao were doing a million a fight or close to it for that one stretch that all PPVs were like that. But that wasn't the case. Canelo did in the 300-400k range against Lara, Angulo and Smith. His fight against Khan wasn't close to a million buys either.
