So Loma took a paycut to make the fight and has no rematch clause.

Some people were accusing him of ducking Lopez...

I agree with Arum here, but context is key. Loma/Teo is an in-house Top Rank matchup. No need for to put a rematch clause in contract when there is no fear of renegotiating a rematch with fighters already under contract. That’s what makes the Povetkin/Whyte rematch clause so confusing. Both fighters are co-promoted by Matchroom and there was no real belt on the line. Only reasoning I can see is that Povetkin contract is/was set to expire after first scrap

This guy seems a bit obsessed with Hearn. If you don't want to put in a rematch clause, then don't. If another promoter or fighter wants to have one the fine. Who cares? I personally think it's a smart bit of insurance for a fighter or promoter to have but it's a personal choice. You don't have to insist on one and you don't have to accept one.

          Ha!

It seems that way but not true. For years, I used to trash Top Rank and lift other promotional companies but I saw how most of them folded when the Pandemic hit.

I get it but I have to respect Arum for moving forward, regardless of what's going on. Eddie's let us down. Oscar's let us down. Most other promotional companies sat on the sidelines and waited, a few others stepped up but not many.

The look on Bob's face during in-house upsets is always priceless! Lol

Pretty sure that rematch close came from Wilder's team and not from Fury's. Fury now has to wait for Wilder to get his act together. I bet Fury is not enoying this.

There is a difference in getting and having a rematch to there being a clause. That said.

There is no rematch "CLAUSE" because 1. Teo is having a hard time making weight and he will move up to 140 after this fight. Why would he want a rematch clause just to keep him at 135 and struggle to make weight? 2. Loma will move back down to 130 and clean house against anyone that dares to step in the ring with him before he retires having been undisputed (hopefully) in 2 divisions.

The only thing we need to be wary of is if the guys at 130 holding their belts hostage are willing to step into the ring with Loma.

And we see it now....Arum's being the biggest blowhard in the game right now because he didn't fold. Imagine how things will be when things get back to "normal".

He's not gonna let them or the public forget how he "carried the sport during the Pandemic" and Oscar and Eddie have their work cut out for them. They seriously do.

If they even thought for two seconds that their promotional companies were inferior to Bob's model then they'd be correct and Bob proved it.

Oscar's pretty much losing Canelo, I'm guessing they finally made Ryan happy with the Campbell fight (because he was complaining) and Eddie's been on the fence since late February with very little answers (e.g. fights to present to the public).

Again, Bob isn't perfect but he remained consistent during these times. Hell, they were even the first ones to give us crowd noise to take our minds off the fact that the venue's empty.
