The more established fighters don't want to fight for the IBF title because of the 10 lb rehydration rule and not allowing mandatories to be stepped aside so you always end up with these really green fighters at the top of their rankings.

My point is Arum was spitting feathers at the prospect of Whyte (or now Povetkin) facing Fury as mando before the AJ clash. He's thrown similar tantrums in the past with Loma etc.

Though attempting to sound principled, he's clearly motivated by financial interests. Principles cost you something, otherwise they're not principles. Again, I'm not taking Arum to task for being financially motivated, we're dealing with boxing promoters here at the end of the day!

I'm pointing out the hypocrisy/double standards of a man trying to pass off the 'health of the sport of boxing' as his main concern when really he's out for making as much money as possible.

      That's why I wrote what I wrote.
I understand, what you say is reasonable, and I agree with most of it. But I would not even faintly criticise any promoter for acting as he does. Also w hat I said was accurate. Pulev has fought his way to his mandatory position and has been waiting a very long time. Arum is absolutely compelled by duty, to make as much money as possible. What he makes repays him for what he has already put up out front , as well as benefitting Pulev ,increasing the amount of whatever percentage his contract says.

If Arum consistently lost money, .... he donates millions yearly to very deserving charities, some of which he and his wife founded. That's what she spends her full time on. And he is their most major contributor. I once got a list of donors from a charity I was involved with, and there at the very top of the list was Arum, his donation was about 4 times the total of all the rest. He neever talks about these things. It was only after Mayweaher offered to pay for Gennaro's Hernandez' funeral that it came out that Arum personally had been driving him to his cancer treatments, waiting , and driving him back home. Also paying for them, and keeping his family for years. Years before, Gennaro had been one of his fighters, you see.

This sack of crap said just the other day that Ramirez vs Taylor won't be made until fans are allowed in the stands.

But now he's claiming that he actually wants to make that fight next but can't because of the Catterall mandatory???

Spouting lots of bullshit as usual. Yesterday he was lying but today he's telling the truth.

The IBF is transparent about their rulebook and they follow it to the letter.

That's why scumbag promoters like Bob Arum keep their fighters out of the IBF rankings. He would rather have them in the WBO rankings which he can manipulate as he sees fit.

As a result the IBF gets stuck with bad mandos. They can't force the corrupt promoters to play ball and stick to a rule set.

Lol Arum built his best fighters like this. Now he’s complaining about it. Look at Crawford for example, he fights trash opponent after trash opponent because they are “next in line” to fight for the title.

He should start with his fighter Pulev.
