That right there is 100% the problem! Right freakin there! All orgs top 10 should almost be mirrors of each other. They aren’t because the orgs DO NOT want unification. Unification = less money for each individual org. The more they can create fake belts and keep them spread across as many fighters as possible for as long as they can = more money.

Until fighters and managers stop paying “monthly dues” to all but one org this clown car show will continue.

I think that if the organizations put a rule where the champion would have to defend his belt twice a year against the mandatory challenger, who will always be the one who wins the elimination between the two best available classifieds (it can be a fight between # 1 vs another classified or even the champion of the lower division), the mandatory challenger can be given legitimacy.

Sure, promoters use organizations to promote their fighters, but then they despise the organization when their fighter is already famous or known ... and organizations in turn use the well-known fighter from the promotion to give them headline fights and win a good one slice of the profits for sanctioning the fight. That is it!

            Won't happen.
That's a very backhanded comment. Naturally he does what suits him-why should he not-..??...Would you do any differently. He obviously did NOT do what suits him in this last Taylor fight. And, as you say he is RIGHT. He very often is. No one has the knowledge of the ins and outs of boxing like Arum.

I just read th first page of comments so far, and you boxing babies are really amusing. You know EVERYTHING that needs to be done. You guys should bein Government, doing REAL things and not criticizing an old but brilliant mind like Arum, who knows everything about the boxing racket.

              Just laughable.

that is just your fevered imagination. His comments mean something because of his high ranking position in Boxing . I've seen him complain over and over about this travesty, and everything he is saying is correct. He is deeply involved with ESPN and is responsible for putting on GOOD fights, not rubbish like this, which he complained about all the way from it's original initiation.

Why not, Pulev is entitled to it. 6'4" 30 fights only i loss to Klitschko when he was good. And he's fought his way to it, has been waiting a long time too. He's one of Arum's fighters which obliges Arum to get him the best fights he can. And AGAIN, need I say he is a deserving mandatory, long overdue. Joshua is not a "easy" fight but the other kind...

Easy to see that not only do you know nothing about boxing, but are also a racist with your stereotype meaning "Arum the ***"... Arum gives more to needy charities every year than you'll make in 10 lifetimes. You know not a thing about him. He's in a business where the Promotor pays millions up front, with no guarantee that he'll even get his money back.

The purpose of business, as I you may-or may not- know, is to make sure you make money and not go bankrupt. If you are working for someone, your best interests are in seeing that he is making profits...Otherwise he'll go broke, and you'll be out of work, your job gone.. food stamps, Social Welfare..etc.

Another reason the promoters are the issue is that they have cosy relationships with the other orgs. Bob and Warren with WBO, Haymon with WBA, WBC goes with whoever pay them the most that week. So if the big promoters have a top prospect/contender they don't send them down the IBF route often.

Remember when Spence was working his way up the IBF rankings and they ordered him to fight Ponomarev (who was promoted by Bob) as a final eliminator? They had a combined record of 52-0 or something, seemed a good fight but of course Bob didn't take it. Because his aim was to get a title shot without risk. But when somebody else pulls the same trick he complains. Reality is he is waiting on making Taylor vs Ramirez so no way he would've let Taylor make a voluntary against anybody dangerous anyway
I don't understand you. This is exactly the situation Arum is complaining about. Taylor is his guy, and was forced to fight a nobody --or be stripped.
