I've posted this thread right right before they announced the official decision, becuase I had Dervy winning 7-5, and would have accepted a 6-6 draw, but when they actually read the scorecards, it confirmed that Dervy would be robbed no matter what.

I've seen quite a few people say the fight was a draw or Dervy won 7-5. People that are pretty reasonable posters on here actually, with no real bias.

The only people who said Canelo did anything in either fight, especially fight 1, well, we know what their agenda was.

Connect percentage shows how accurate you were and is an indication of how good of a ring general you were as well.

Spraying punches everywhere and having a low connect percentage is an indication that you were just praying to land something.

Alternatively, you could say someone's activity, even if not landing as often percentage-wise, is a deterrent to his opponent even attempting to score. Using your offense as defense if you will. You can only score points by trying to throw punches - if my output leaves you defensive and struggling to even find opportunities to land, then that's a positive.

Derevyanchenko only landed 29 more power punches. Over a 12 round fight that averages to landing only 2 or 3 more per round.

I like Dervy but even I have to admit he was beat up and mostly taken to school. Charlo didn't even look like he was in a fight at the end.

In any fair world he deserved at least 5 rounds and as many as 7. I don't see how anyone who knows how to score a fight and is reasonable gives him fewer than 6. He had about 5 clear rounds. Charlo had 3 I think. It was a really competitive fight.

No one is complaining about it because 1) the media that is reporting on it is all US based and in the current climate it is not really PC to comment against a US African-American fighter like Charlo, in favor of a white eastern euro like Dervy. Who in their right mind would publicly make that their hill to die on, when the established narrative is the other way? It would be dumb and they would be run out of the sport/labeled every bad racist term you can think of.

And 2) the people on here who scored it for Dervy don't really care. It was a close fight and the bigger name got the decision. If we freaked out about that every time it happened we would never stop freaking out.
