Why does it have to help or hurt boxing? It is going to be an exhibition that won't neither help or hurt the sport. You're not going to see all of a sudden a bunch of new boxing fans after this fight...That is if it even takes place.

Boxing is at an all time low. People question the legitimacy of the sport now more than ever with it’s ratings. Casuals check in every now and again and Mayweather is one of the guys they check in on. His decisions matter.

If boxing is going to make some noise for the casual to hear then it would be better if that noise is of a super fight, the next Tyson, or something else to be celebrated n cheered. Every time Mayweather draws eyes to the sport he gives a false impression of what the sport is about. It’s not about exhibitions, ducking opponents or protecting a 0 at all costs.

He hurts the sport with almost every move he makes. If someone knocked his block off then boxing would have been better off.
