Unless they completely jam pack the undercard with great competitive fights, which of course...they won’t.
Boxing isn't about competitive fights as fooked up as that might be to say. We all obviously love them & look forward to them but that's us winning not boxing winning.

Boxing as setup today is a asses in seats game that has no real integrity or lil best case. And it's basically always been that way although a graph of the integrity in boxing would look like a solid downward trajectory over the decades to where it's currently at I feel like.

So this alleged fight is 100% a huge W for boxing cuz the attention & revenue it'll bring to the sport will have been surpassed by only a few events in the ways that matter to boxing as it stands today.

No Floyd is not a active fighter this doesn't effect boxing at all.

If u don't like it don't watch. I don't like it but will check out the highlights like I did for KS1 vs Paul

I really think it's just a rumor.... Btw

100% I'll buy this fight if it's legit.

I'm on record here as being very pro circus fights. I like getting to engage with casuals & non-boxing fans about boxing.

I know the consensus here is always to be anti-circus fights, but mfers ignore the sport is built for circus fights not for the way you, I & overwhelmingly most fans want it to be setup. I just seem to be able to embrace the circus better than most hardcore fans & see the upside in everyone talking about boxing even if it's only for a short while & it's for a wonky ass fight.

I'm more anti-old guys fighting than anti-circus fight so I'd be more likely to be "offended" at boxing at Floyd fighting at all than him fighting a 0-1-1 boxer as a legend of the game.

I believe it actually helps in a post-pandemic landscape. It's a huge event, even if it's a sideshow and I'm willing to bet that people will watch in spite of the criticism from hardcore boxing fans.

As for Mayweather's legacy, I stopped seeing him as an active fighter after his fight with Andre Berto in 2015 so I don't put too much stock into anything he does from this point forward. If he wants to pocket millions from exhibitions then more power to him.

                  Neither,

I doubt it happens, and plus there have been lots of exhibitions in the past..not sure why people make these things such a big deal

Floyd is a retired fighter, it ain’t for a belt, and if it’s clearly listed as an exhibition, it shouldn’t help or hurt boxing. If anything it brings more casuals to the sport
