No, DAZN clearly dont know how this works.

In the lawsuit filing Canelo said when DAZN wouldn't approve opponents or pay Golden Boy what they promised per Canelo fight he told them to explore other network options. Doing so would obviously be a breach in contract on Golden Boy's part with DAZN but on the flip side not delivering a fight for Canelo is also a breach in contract on Golden Boy's side. In that article before Oscar found out about the filing he put all the blame on DAZN for not living up to their contractual obligations. After the lawsuit a rep for Golden Boy blamed Covid, saying they're not obligated to put on a Canelo fight without a crowd.

So Canelo is free to fight anywhere as long as Golden Boy promotes it but if it's promoted on DAZN they have to pay him $35 mil minimum. Is this correct?
No it is not correct. If Canelo is a free agent then why is he suing both DAZN and Golden Boy???? If he has no contract with DAZN why would he sue them? If he is a free agent why wouldn't he just fight that Turk on showtine for the vacant WBC 168 pound ttle? That is the fight Canelo wants and asked the WBC for. I think he IS under contract with DAZN to fight for them only and he is suing them to get out of that contract plus the greedy boy wants DAZN to pay him 280 million bucks for fights he will never have with them. What this means is Canelo will be involved in a legal case and WON"T be fighting anybody until that case is resovled. You know how long these cases can take. Canelo may not fight for a year or more.

It’s a three way agreement. Canelo didn’t negotiate with DAZN directly but he’s currently still bound by it otherwise no reason to sue.
I think it will come to DAZN paying Canelo a reduced amount up front and letting him out of the deal. Maybe they work together on a fight by fight basis if Oscar and GBP are not involved.
The trickier one is Canelo and Golden Boy. I personally think Canelo has grounds for breach of co tract after Oscar made moves without his involvement that triggered all of this tension. He no longer needs GBP and they are hindering him in his prime earning years.

I take it that Oscar told Canelo that there was a possibility for an alternative broadcaster, or else that wouldn’t have been a narrative to begin with. Therefore the problem lies with GBP / DAZN contract.

DAZN could choose to forfeit GBP contract and worse sue them for “fraud.” We don’t know what the details are for what was expected to be delivered between GBP DAZN.
Looks like your baby boy will be out of action a long time. I am sure that won't stop you from starting your usual 10 threads a day about his wonderfulness. But you will have to write about what he already did or what you think he could do because he will be doing nothing for a long time. Enjoy!

But I don’t like the idea of Canelo working with Haymon. Haymon is a ****** master
I don't get this logic. Is Canelo going there to be his bitch or something?

Tbh I don’t care. Expect a new generation of boxing fans whom will cry that Haymon is a traitor since Al would make Canelo priority among any other. In other words Haymon’s priority to push a Mexican star would be funny amongst the LDBC
