He should stay solo and do 1-2 fight contracts at a time with PBC, TOP Rank, and maybe goldenboy/matchroom. It all really depends how the legal thing works out.

If Canelo is lucky enough to get out of this mess (which he likely will) then I don't think he signs with ANY promoter again after this. First All Star Boxing and now this Mess? Yeah, No More Promoters for Canelo! I think he does his own thing with Reynoso and they start building up a stable for their own promotion. Yeah I could see him using Schaefer or Tom Brown Licensing for his Events in California or Vegas or whatever for sure.

Haymon makes the most sense regardless if people like him or not! Canelo would be allowed to keep his Freedom and he will be in Full Control of his own Events while Working With Haymon. Also too Haymon have Opponents lined up for him at 160-168: Charlo at 160, Benavidez at 168, Plant at 168, Potential Zurdo Ramirez (who is a free agent also) at 168 or 175...All Can Be Mega Fights! So yes Haymon will be more than WILLING to overpay for Canelo vs Yildirim and if that happens they will roll out the Red Carpet for Canelo and probably put that on FOX PPV even though it is not PPV Worthy but with FOX Promoting it during the NFL Season and with PBC Roster to Load Up The Cards I think they can for sure make something out of nothing even with a PPV Main Event as bad as that would be.

Canelo actually can generate MORE than $40 Million a fight on his own if you take into account everything from Fight Purse (at Minimum Canelo is going to make $20 Million Guaranteed, that is Pacquiao Minimum Guarantee right now), Back End PPV Buys, Global TV Rights (will keep all of the money that comes out of Mexico for his fights for himself now) and just a bunch of money that comes in that Promoters HIDE from Fighters which is why most promoters are terrified to have to open their BOOKS

So yeah Canelo should do what Mikey Garcia is doing, keep your damn Freedom and Stay a Free Agent!

Is Richard even moving like that anymore? Seems like that GBP situation threw off his luster & he's been on fumes every since.

Honestly I'd argue Canelo should just hire his own guy or freelance his sh^t out like Floyd did (w/Richard too obviously). If it's Richard or whoever but I think he should build his own empire from here out. All these big names have built something for post-boxing while they were active. Why not Canelo too & the perfect way to start it off well is him fighting in the main events while he's still in the sport.

Haymon built the biggest earner in the history of the sport. They put on the 3 biggest selling ppv’s in history.

That isn’t ****** hustle culture. That is Harvard Business School mastery of your craft.

If he’s done with DAZN he shouldn’t sign with any promoter.

Not logical, your post is well written and points well made, but the lack of morality (Schaefer's) and the suddenly discovered, almost completed attempt by Schaefer to steal Golden Balls from under Oscar's feet, and yes, half-closed-eyes, seems to be almost praiseworthy....??

Or am I reading your post wrongly?? ..

My recollection of that event is that everyone in boxing and on this site, condemned Schaefer, and Oscar got a share of it too for allowing himself to take his eyes off business to his pwn pleasures and negative behaviour.

But the fact remains, Schaefer tried to steal..yes, steal Golden Balls from it's owner by underhanded crooked moves, that could only have come from the mind of a crooked banker,-or top Mafia consortium. He was keeping the company running-with one hand- whilst holding the knife to stab Oscar in th back , with the other.

How else can it be described but what it was.
i think we disagree here and thats ok....but i see it differently

most here would look at the whole thing and condemn anyone affiliated with haymon...most of his fighters, even now, are hated on a daily basis because of who haymon is and his affiliation with floyd

oscar agreed to part with all the haymon fighters and was compensated.......but in my view things were going well with golden boy at the time(cant really be disputed) and schaffer did what he had to do in order to keep a good relationship with haymon....haymon being a guy that advised probably the best stable of talent in boxing......so schaeffer was just playing nice with haymon in order to keep the talent around

those in boxing condemned it because it was something they werent used to seeing...they are used to seeing guys with promo contracts to promo companies....what haymon was doing, and is still doing, is a whole different model....it seems to be one that works as most of his fighters seem pretty happy with him....the old guard is used to iron clad contracts inked by fighters to the big promo companies....haymon has it set up where the fighters, at least the top level/most popular ones, can control their event and get more money for themselves...haymon has helped empower fighters and takes care of them....thats why guys like LSC named their kid after him....thats why paul williams still speaks highly of haymon...and others are loyal

boxing was afraid of al haymon...to some degree they still are but i think hes more dug in now and everyone is kinda used to him and how he operates now...but thats why they were skeptical....some people dont like change...haymon changed the way the game is played to a degree

The last I checked Richard Schaefer was now based in Switzerland and is part owner of the "World Boxing Super Series" along with Sauerland Promotions.
