There is no perfect formula. Unfortunately they will hire cheerleaders instead of commentators. Bradley is pretty bad and also Sergio Mora.Anything that stops devaluing the sport is good news.
I'm not against the concept of DAZN. But you aren't getting the best at $9.99/month.
If I knew that $30/month guaranteed top tier fights with no ads and unbiased commentary (i.e. Fire Chris Mannix) , I would support that.Comment

All I know - and some others don't understand business so I wouldn't expect them to understand this - is that you get what you pay for.
WWE Network at $9.99 is garbage compared to the days when it was only PPV. This is fact.
DAZN at $9.99 is garbage compared to the days when it was only PPV and broadcast TV. This is fact.
The only side doing good business is the UFC - Fight Pass gets you the B-level, PPV is still where the A-levels are. Everything else is free TV. They even co-broadcast (though failed) Mayweather/McGregor ON PPV.
I know hardcores don't like this truth. But it's business sense. Not "tell the fighters to take a cut" - they won't! So stop asking.
The only answer is to fix the model. UFC's model is really where everyone should be, including WWE (who doesn't understand how to book "A-level" anymore, but I'm just saying).
Free and broadcast TV (NOT ONLINE STREAMING) - your C-class, your prospects, your 'eye tests', whatever. Your works-in-progress people. Get them noticed by the widest audience possible.
Paid monthly subscription for $9.99 (ONLINE STREAM) - your B-class. The guys who have proven they're legit on free TV and are ready to be tested. Maybe they have a lower level belt or two. If they fail, they go back to free TV with an appropriately lower payday. Access to the free archives of broadcast fights.
Pay-Per-View (TV OR ONLINE STREAM) at $49.99 each - Your A-side fighters who have proven they draw money going up against an up-and-coming B-side who has proven they drew subs.
'Enhanced' subscription for $29.99 (ONLINE STREAM) - access to the library of everything above a month after they have broadcasted.
This is for everyone. IGNORE YOUR TENDENCIES AS A HARDCORE BOXING WATCHER. From a BUSINESS sense, tell me why that doesn't make sense.Last edited by Combat Talk Radio; 09-09-2020, 09:20 AM.Comment

I like to watch boxing. Either on free TV, the Spanish channels or online. Before if you wanted to watch the top matches you had to pay for HBO and SHOWTIME. Now the format is different. I held out on DANZ until the masses said that it worked fine and they started to have meaningful fights that I wanted to watch. All I know - and some others don't understand business so I wouldn't expect them to understand this - is that you get what you pay for.

It is unfortunate that boxing is one of those sports that you have to pay and they are so many different formats the you have to subscribe toComment

Actually WWE for $10 is a steal. Not only do you get all of the PPV events you get EVERY past WWE/WWF/WCW/NWA/ECW Nd even more events from the past plus other shows and docu series. All I know - and some others don't understand business so I wouldn't expect them to understand this - is that you get what you pay for.

Once again, you are not considering the quality of what you get. You're only focused on quantity.
I am talking about QUALITY of the newest programming.
Nothing - NOTHING - you see on WWE today has anywhere near the quality of someone like Junkyard Dog in the 80's - even on FREE TV. That man drew huge no matter what he was doing when he was in his prime. You'll never see Bobby Lashley pull like that.
People who actually pay for the Network are people who watch the old stuff. That's already available for free online anyway. That's not value!Comment

It’d be sad if DAZN died. Guy’s just wanna make the super fights. Canelo should just rematch G. It’s the biggest fight available, even if I’d prefer Smith/Beterbiev/Bivol.
But sht, DAZN needs to start thinking more outside the box, you can sell just about anything with good and persistent enough advertisement.Comment

And then they gave the keys to an arrogant british snob. Can’t understand why THAT backfiredComment
