I know at the time people figured Douglas was just an easy win for the next guy, but in hindsight I think Douglas actually could have been a half decent champion with his size and jab. A fit and motivated Douglas could have been a tough fight for the heavies at that time. Dethroning Mike was such a massive win as well, its a shame it was only defining for Mike. So I'll go with Douglas.

I don't think anyone thought, let's see if Ruiz is the real deal. A lot of people thought he'd piss away his chance, and he did.

Buster was never going to beat Holyfield.

Ruiz had a shot at beating Joshua again but he didn't bother to try.

Both were miserable disappointments but Buster got beaten up. Andy made Joshua change his whole game and if Joshua hadn’t changed, Andy still would have won despite his poor condition.

              HHmmmm

2 flukes who never should have been champs in the 1st place...... I say Ruiz. He already beaten AJ in embarrassing fashion. He got shutout in the IMMEDIATE rematch. Shameful.

Buster lost to a different fighter altogether. I not recall Buster being a 40-1 dog vs Holy.

Both these guys were shown up for not being real winners.

They just wanted enough money to set them up and had no heart for the game after they achieved that.

                  This right here.

Buster Douglass is still living off of one win from 30 years ago.

I will say that Andy Ruiz has a chance to correct the ship and seems to be saying the right thing.

                  Let's see what he does.

This comparison isn't fair since Buster didn't get a chance to repeat his feat against Mike. Maybe he would have beaten him again.
