His next opponent is supposedly Callum Smith, who's also a good opponent and ranked as the Champion of 168 by The Ring.

His last opponent, Kovalev, was ranked #2 by The Ring at 175, #2 by ESPN, and #3 by TBRB.

Daniel Jacobs was ranked #2 by The Ring at 160, #2 by TBRB, and #3 by ESPN.

GGG was ranked #1 by The Ring, TBRB and ESPN at 160.
      Preach.

      Killing him with facts.

Canelo has the best resume in boxing now. DAZN should just disappear.

Jacobs, Kovalev? Was in talks with Derevyanchenko but they played hardball. Agreed to fight Saunders or Smith or 30% pay cut. Your standards are extremely high here.

If he was given the five losses he should have, he probably wouldn’t have such a good resume.

You’re giving him credit for talking to fighters now?

Jeez, that’s quite a thing to give credit for.

Wilder and Joshua should get credit for talking then. They didn’t duck each other, they talked and wanted to fight

                    LOL

When Kovalev beat Eleider every EE fan was up on their heels with joy saying the “Krusher is back!” And saying they wanted unifications with Bivol and Beterbiev. Then the Yarde fight comes + a Canelo fight and all of sudden everyone is afraid of a Middleweight. Lol
No, he didn't agree to fight Canelo before the Yarde fight. He said that fight might be possible after tho.

"It wasn’t too little, but it was too late.

That’s essentially why Sergey Kovalev turned down an 11th-hour, eight-figure offer to fight Canelo Alvarez. Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez made a very attractive offer to Kathy Duva, Kovalev’s promoter, late in July for Kovalev to defend his WBO light heavyweight title versus Alvarez on October 26 in Las Vegas."

It was initially reported that the November date was too quick a turnaround for Kovalev:

"WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev is reportedly putting the brakes on a fight with Saul Canelo Alvarez on November 2, as Golden Boy Promotions wants. Kovalev (34-3-1, 29 KOs) took a lot of heavy punishment in his fight last Saturday night against mandatory challenger Anthony Yarde, and it would be too quick of a turnaround for him fight in 10 weeks from now on November 2."

Only after the pot for Kovalev was considerably sweetened did he agree to fight on such short rest.
