Comments Thread For: Hearn: If Wilder Doesn't Take Fury Rematch - He Should Retire

Well said! This guy spends more time talking about PBC fighters than his own. No wonder DAZN is falling apart. He is a fraud, and the only thing keeping him and De La Hoya in business is the fact that they have 2 of the biggest draws in boxing. The moment they realize they don't need them it will all be over.
Prompters have been corrupting the sport since before any of us were born. These new younger dudes make the old guard look like geniuses. They can't market or generate revenue but still try to fleece boxers and the fans. Locals were hyping DAZN, I didn't burst their bubble but would tell my close friends how that services was missing to many key elements to be worth my money.
Hearn keeps talking/reacting like he's on something or he just says what sounds good to him in the moment. No plan or strategy, contradicts his own logic from issue to issue. It's like watching a 20 year raised on 15min youtube clips and just a sad sight for boxing fans.
Floyd and even Mikey Garcia took control and did their best to reduce their dependence on promoters, others need to follow that approach. With social media and the modern news cycle, one can promote themselves even without going the Mayweather or Mcgreggor bad guy act to get noticed. A small marketing firm could even cost them less than a promoter. Get marketing students looking for final projects or those who graduated and mastered the new technological options.
I know..another rant on my partComment

Tyson is Bob's property now. He owns him. Fury signed his life away to Top Rank the moment he signed that contract; Which is why there will never be a Fury vs Joshua clash without the old man's consent and so far he is staunchly against it.Comment

Negotiations are taking place, I believe. It's not a huge offer, but Brook says he's staying at 147 for the rest of his career, and if he wants a chance to be a world champion again, Crawford is his only option.
I hope Kell accepts the fight. I think he has the size, skill and experience to give Crawford problems.Comment

I dont usually give any credence to what Hearn says, but in this case his words were clearly misrepresented. After reading the quote, Hearn clearly said Wilder is not the type of person to quit the fight. Gotta give Hearn this one, that title was purposefully misleading, akin to click bate.Wilder gets TKOed once and he should retire meanwhile AJ quits in front of MSG and Whyte falls through the ropes a few times and they are still at their peak and deserve rematches Eddie Hearn is just a yes man but he always shuts up whenever a boxer presses him in person even little Carl Frampton had Eddie scared.
Even if Wilder were to lose the trilogy he is still a puncher that could put out anyone unless he loses 3-4 fights in a row I don't think he should be telling anyone to retire especially since he's not the one in there getting hit just exploiting them until they can't fight anymore and onto the next. It's a shame watch what's going to happen to Dillian Whyte after a few more losses he will be fighting Owen Beck at a Jamaican dancehall festival.Comment

remember when aj said pay me 50 million and I will fight wilder then changed his mind ? Wilder didnt sign with dazn because it’s not all about money and yet for some reason everyone on this board is concerned with wilder paycheck. Second , he was not going to be anyone’s property.I remember Hearn stating in the media, multiple times, that Wilder would get 50/50 if Winkle would stop being a baby and actually try and enter negotiations, for once. I also remember Wilder having a meeting with DAZN, being offered $100m+ for two fights with AJ in addition to a fight with whoever he wanted. But yea, let's forget about those and focus on the flat fee that was somehow a lowball offer even though the eventual offer was something like four times Wilder's highest purse at that point
