Taking BRONX23's point on on the cuts, scar tissue, swelling, and implants holding up. I really don't see Spence escaping severe facial damage in this fight. The way that Danny punches with those hooks, overhand rights, and uppercuts, Spence could come out a swollen bloody mess. He can avoid this scenario by quick knockout, or by putting on a boxing clinic like he hasn't done yet in his career. Spence is the undisputed welterweight champion, there is no question about that. He hasn't fought in over a year, and is coming off a serious car accident in which he was propelled out of his car. He's fighting a guy who's never been knocked out, or down for that matter. Danny has been anxious to get back at the top, and win the title again, to then move up to 154. A loss here could alter those plans significantly, might even end his career sooner down the line than expected.

I have doubts too, but my main concern was his weight cut. By this time next year, Jermall should go to 168, Jermell should go to 160, and Spence should go to 154!Comment

Nice too see someone on here who knows the score, I dought we will ever see Spencer and Crawford unify Al Haymon just ain't goner let that happen.Comment

FACTS are, as much as I love Danny, he hasn’t shown up and secured the win against his stiffest competition at 147, Porter and Thurman. So I’m supposed to believe he will beat Errol Spence???? Not buying...
Danny’s “notable wins & losses” at WELTERWEIGHT (147):
Peterson-Decision
Malignaggi-TKO
Guerrero-Decision
Vargas-TKO
Rios-TKO
Thurman-LOSS
Porter-LOSSComment

And for those talking about crap Crawford did years ago to justify why a guy who got two-pieced, wobbled and dropped by someone nobody knew beats Danny Swift, let me ask this.
What name on Crawford's resume beats Danny Swift? Just one.
Don't say Khan - the guy Danny Swift sparked the chin on in 4 rounds yet had to eat a low blow from Crawford. He's out.
Who's left? Who on that resume beats Danny Swift?
Serious question.Comment

What current welterweight other than Pacquiao has a better resume than Danny??....exactly. stfuDanny way washed up... he's bout to be TKO'd by Spence... Danny should stick to fighting guys level like Redkach, Rios & Granados.... Herrera & Peterson got robbed, shaft decisions.... they each kicked Danny's A** and pops Garcia knows it! Pops Garcia keeping Danny far far away from P4P #1 TC !!Comment

I'm not seeing anybody that Danny beat that would trouble Crawford. Swift has a nice resume, but his two biggest fights at 147 were losses. His best wins are Khan and Matthysse at 140.And for those talking about crap Crawford did years ago to justify why a guy who got two-pieced, wobbled and dropped by someone nobody knew beats Danny Swift, let me ask this.

Oh you mean the resume with Redkach, Granados, punk drunk Rios included? Danny lost to Herrera & Peterson... these 5 names here on Danny's wonderful resume wouldn't make it through round 3 vs TC... Danny needs to let everyone know why he passed on a career high payday (5M) running far away from TC.... all day!Comment

More than anything, this fight will show where Spence is after the accident. D. Swift is a very credible, dangerous challenge with those power hooks. Style-wise, it was always a bit of a dangerous fight for Spence, because he likes to focus on the body ... whick makes you vulnerable to hooks automatically.
It will be very interesting to see if Spence is completely the same fighter. If he is, he will weather whatever Danny does and brutalize his body by the 8th. If not, this fight might go into unexplored territory.
I'm hoping Spence has not come back too soon, and my money will be on him. Will be an interesting fight no matter what.
