You've officially got my vote. Just on word alone that your better than the others is pretty much how most of proffesional boxing operates nowadays

Wilder easily... the guys made like 10 defences and has only lost to the very best in the division.

Eh, I dunno. I think Wilder is just assumed to be but really he needs to actually prove it at this point.

The Ruiz/Wilder fight would be very interesting because Ruiz seems to have a good chin and can do damage if you let him close distance. Wilder has more one shot sniping power than AJ so could probably test Ruizs chin even more, but on the other hand i'm not sure he would be able to switch up his game like AJ did if his power failed him.

Hunter is definitely underrated. Smaller HW and not the biggest hitter but hes one of the more skilled guys in the division imo.

I would say Andy Ruiz Junior but? The man just does not have the dedication, to maintain consistency.

Therefore currently right now 'Deontay Wilder is the best American heavyweight'.

            Michael Hunter gets my vote.

I was torn between him and Andy Ruiz Jr, who scored the best win of any US HW when he stopped AJ. But I think Hunter is more versatile and would beat Ruiz Jr H2H.

Superficially, going by his record, Wilder looks like the best, but that changes when you take a closer look at who he fought - and more importantly, who he didn't fight - during his title reign.

Imo, Hunter stopping Bakole and drawing - unluckily - with Povetkin, and Ruiz Jr stopping AJ, are better performances than anything I've seen from Wilder.

Who did he beat though? Surely that's more important than who beat him.

The beauty of a place like the USA is we are a country comprised of people from everywhere. Fury is one of us, and one of them. He is the face of the sport and the world.
Hero worship is a good thing per se but you have to keep your feet on the ground. Fury is not now nor will he ever be an American. He is not the face of boxing nor of the world. Sorry to burst your bubble. He is the heavyweight champion of the world if that helps.

                    Hunter.

Has the skills and the movement to outbox Ruiz and Wilder.

You have to wonder if Ruiz Junior has the best punch resistance out of all he top heavyweights ? 'Maybe it is between him and Joseph Parker'.

Joshua is arguable the second hardest hitting heavyweight in the division, overall has a more varied and destructive arsenal than Deontay Wilder 'Ruiz was the first fighter to come through Joshua's power' etc
