I think Mayweather will win by UD or a TKO. but after that Gatti fight I don't think Mayweather's got anywhere near the kind of power needed to knock Baldomir out clean. And that's what interests me about this fight. Mayweather has trouble when his opponents come forward the whole fight and take everything he throws. But if Baldy can't KO Floyd with one punch then that strategy is useless. And looking at his record- I don't think Baldy has the power to smash Floyd with a KO punch. But he can at least walk through Floyd's offense- that much I'm convinced of.
But I also have this image in my mind of Floyd landing on him so much that it gets stopped even if Baldy isn't hurt (not too badly anyway)- I think this is the most likely outcome of the fight if we see the same Floyd that took Gatti apart.Comment

Baldomir beating Floyd would be a nightmare.
It would increase the Baldomir hype even more than it already is....and would give people a legitimate arguement.
They would never claim that since Baldomir has fought at 147 his entire life.....and Floyd has never faced anyone even remotely near as big as he is......that he could lose because of.
Especially if Floyd runs around the ring and loses on the cards when Baldomir is chasing him throwing right hands.
Baldomir sucks, and Floyd is unproven at 147. End of Story.

that punishment came later. if he did what he came to do & threw
punches with intent he may of troubled floyd for longer.Comment

Originally posted by DiegoFuegodude, I just said it was the right fight to make as far as 147 supremacy goes but stylistically it's not even close to a good fight. when Mayweather wins every round, I won't even say "told ya so" because I'm nice like that
but ill say "told ya so" when baldy makes it a close and exciting fight, because im nice like that.
im so excited to rub it in everyones face... :PComment

if they both lose the same amount of times then i think it could happen.Originally posted by DiegoFuegoyou need to root for Mayweather and tell Hatton to stop saying he needs more time and fight him while they're both undefeated. as soon as one of them loses, goodbye Mayweather-Hatton.
I dont think that there is a possibility of BOTH of them being undefeated by the mid-way point of 2006. its just unreasonable. Mayweather could lose to DLH or MOSLEY and the odds are against him beating them BOTH back to back as quick as he is planning on doing. maybe with some time between...
And hatton losing to castillo is more likely to happen then him winning. Im betting that hatton is the slight underdog in this fight.
I think all that needs to happen is for Hatton to beat Castillo convincingly (by that i mean it could still be a really close fight, but nobody is gonna disagree that hatton won, ya know?) and or mayweather to beat DLH OR mosley, and the fight will be made.Comment

If baldomir can beat floyd, he should be considered great. no question about it. he is FAAAAR from sucking. He beat both judah and gatt convincingly to me, and that alone makes him a very good fighter.
And floyd has teh type of style where it hardly matters what weight he is at. He doesnt stand and trade. The only effect of going up in weight is a very slight decrease in hand speed, but its made up for with a very slight increase in power.
Ill say it right now, If baldy beats mayweather convincingly, he deserves all the credit he gains from it.
ANd i think it could be hella good for boxing. It would win an ESPY or something.
Floyd losing wouldnt be the end of him. hes still in his prime and his prime is gonna last a while.Comment
