Maybe they thought he was that good but they were wrong as Garcia proved. Later Pacquiao knocked him out quickly and easily although he had gone way down hill since losing to Danny. However Pacquiao also beat Thurman who beat Danny so Pacquiao's Thurman win logically tops and Danny Garcia win. Pacquiao was 41 at that time. Add to that the vast number of great wins Pacquiao had during his amazing career and he beats all of Danny's wins by a mile or two.

Danny's147 resume includes Malignaggi, Guerrero, and Rios.

Out of all the current gen, Thurman still has the best resume out there. He already beat Porter and Danny back to back three years ago. Spence hasn't even done that yet.

Garcia caught Matthysse with a weird right sc**** of a shot on his right eye, which is also odd. I hated that Lucas suffered that shot, but that's boxing.

            Thurman beat Garcia

But coming into their fight Garcia wasn’t seen as this big bad man or a very good boxer

Was it the greatest win when Judah and Alexander outboxed Lucas prior. What about when Postol stopped Lucas?

Lucas aura of being a great danger went down the toilet after Garcia beat him

I’d probably say Porter beating Garcia himself is a better win.

                  Or Spence beating Porter too.

Matthysse was dangerous but also limited, he was never actually a legitimate world champion in his career too.
That's unfair to Matthyse. The IBF title wasn't on the line when he beat the hell out of Peterson yet it was on the line when Peterson fought Jean on his next fight. Plenty of people thought that he deserved the win against either Judah or Alexander and he dropped them both, he was a fairly good counterpuncher with decent speed and lights out power and he was quite a favorite before facing Garcia, most journalists were picking Matthysse to win. Porter himself got the title from Devon Alexander and by beating Garcia, Spence was a huge favorite against him.

His aura should have never been their in the first place to anyone honest about his performances against Judah and Alexander. We fall in love with punchers. Matthysee wasn't the first and he wont be the last. Postol picked him apart with a jab he had no answer for.

Thurman has wins over Porter and Garcia back to back.

He hasn't been the same since the injuries but he still has the best wins among the prime welterweights (Pac's win over Thurman is the best in the last few years, but he's from the earlier generation).
