I can go to any poor hood or ****** and ask some random on the street about Mayweather and I can guarantee they would know who he is.

They would also know the name Ali too. And one was active much more recently. Pretending like that doesn't matter is silly.

      Pretty sure AJ is too.......
Fury would bend Canelo over, AJ got his soul snatched already by Fury..

          Absolutely savage.

And Fury is more known than Canelo in the US too. Pretty much everyone I know who either:

          a) primarily watches UFC but tunes in to big boxing fights
          b) doesn't really watch combat sports but casually watches UFC or big boxing fights

Know Fury by name, and not that I've asked them all but he is probably the only boxer outside of Mayweather or Pacquiao (other than Wilder since he just fought Fury) they do know by name.

Peeps on NSB really try to push the narrative that Canelo is some star but the dude isn't "popular" like I think some people wish he was lol.

            Obviously..........

Didn't mayweather hang with 50 cent?

Wasn't 50 cent literally one of the biggest icons and idols in the hood and ******s back in the day?

            There you go.

I know that Canelo Alvarez and Manny Pacquiao are the biggest draws in North America while Anthony Joshua has lost some fan support in the U.K.

However, it's safe to say that Tyson Fury by coming off his huge victory over Deontay Wilder is probably the face of boxing right now. So far, both Canelo and AJ have been idle for several months and haven't fought this year in 2020 due to this current pandemic.

Dang dude, you sound out of touch. What "hoods" are these?

Most people I know made fun of 50 because he was studio.

In Cali, people listened to some Dre / aftermath and Game, Snoop, Nipsey, E-40, and swisha house and stuff like Brotha Lynch Hung and Tech 9ne.

In the south, it was mostly swisha house, juve, lil Wayne, 3 6, TI, Ludacris, Snoop, Eminem, UGK, Slim Thug .

In the north east it was mostly Cassidy, Terror Squad, Mobb Deep, Freeway, Dipset, Jadakiss / Ruff Ryders, Nas.

I've been around a lot and I've never been anywhere where 50 wasn't considered some studio pop product riding on ems coattails. His claim to fame was stealing another cats name.

                An icon? Lmao.

Drake is a studio gangster and I'm quite sure he is the most popular rapper right now just as 50 cent was back in the day right alongside eminem.

None of those rappers you mentioned other than eminem, snoop and maybe wayne were as popular as 50 cent.

                      Dre doensn't count because he's a producer.

And shame on you for not mentioning Jeezy when speaking of southern rappers.
