Povetkin won the first couple of rounds, Whyte started getting into it and had a big 4th round, and then got laid out in the 5th, hardly dominating.
The commentary was ridiculously biased towards Whyte.
Well said. A lot of people were listening to this fight instead of actually watching it. There was nothing in it until the knockdowns in the 4th round and then Povetkin responded with that KO.
Whyte has not been close to elite level and he knows it. He followed other routes while running his mouth off how he is being denied. He got his comeuppance for not taking chances while you can..
Speak to Fury or AJ about a different fighter to the one they're are due to fight and they shut it down pretty quickly... they focus on the fight ahead of them..
that's just basic preparation for a fighter imo and he couldn't even do that right..
Whyte just run his mouth off about how hard done to he is. 2 days before the fight he's still ****ing on about Fury, he's still ****ing on about how he's scared and running when his FOCUS should have been solely on Povetkin and Povetkin only...
No I think Fury is the best fighter in the division by a distance, however AJ is #2 and I think he is a level above guys like Povetkin/Whyte/Ortiz
Ok, it’s just the way people are wording it
Povetkin/Whyte/Ortiz clearly aren’t on the same level
Povetkin is clearly better than Whyte/Ortiz
Between Whyte and Ortiz... one has a resume, the other doesn’t. Ortiz does not have any win better than Povetkin (or even remotely close), so can’t justify him over Whyte
I think most felt Whyte was 3rd best and regardless of all that, should have had his title shot already.
Povetkin is a terrific heavyweight and props for him coming through aged 40.
It was a great fight. Rematch please!
I think all in all, Whyte should be reasonably happy with the way things have worked out.
He's made plenty of money on PPV fighting some old men & stiff midgets, if Wilder had given him a shot at the WBC, Dillian would've got his jaw shattered all over the ring and he wouldn't have made any ££.
Tyson Fury has not beaten Povetkin or Whyte. I am not sure why Tyson Fury fans, are acting as of this is some sort of multi-dimensional win for Tyson Fury 'Anthony Joshua is the only champion who has beaten both Povetkin and Fury'.
Tyson Fury fans seem to have created a new rule 'This rule enables Fury to absorb the credit from other fighters, when they fight other opponents'.
Denium, Tyson Fury has not beaten ether Povetkin or Whyte. Tyson Fury has had two fights at elite level, stop acting as if this is some sort of victory for Tyson Fury etc

Listen, all I'm saying is that us Fury fans have always known that Whyte is a B level HW who never had a chance against an elite HW such as Tyson Fury.
Our claims have now been supported by Dillian Whyte getting put to sleep by a 40yr old.
Can you honestly say with a straight face that Dillian Whyte would have any kind of chance against Tyson Fury? Or even Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder?
I think most people understood Whyte was and still is in the 2nd tier of guys, as is Povetkin. Full credit to Povetkin for pulling out that beautiful KO, but we also can't act like Whyte hadn't dominated the fight up until that punch
dominating? he was up on the cards because of those two flash knock downs but povetkin was never really hurt or in trouble. its not like whyte was winning every round and got knocked out in the 12 round. povetkin put him to sleep in the fifth round.
