Saturday night. Ok
Party. Ok
Bar. Ok
Which of those are inextricably linked to cable TV?
I'll add in...
While on holiday.
At a friend's place.
Traveling for work.
At a party.
Fk. Anywhere except sitting in the exact place you need to be to get access to the content.
An app is just another way of accessing content and showing it on a screen. And it's the blindingly obvious one given that you don't need any proprietary equipment to do it.
It seems to me like you can't get your head around what's happening.
You're used to watching cable on a Saturday night. So you think if boxing moves from cable you won't have Saturday night boxing?
It's unbelievably strange that you want any kind of technological advancement to fail.Comment

This aint about me. The people have spoke.
Nobody bought dazn. They have all nsb favorite fighters.
GGG and Joshua the greatest heavyweight and middleweight of all time let boxingscene tell it. And dont forget the mexican legend- canelo.
And nobody gave a damn in america. And most of us said it in the beginning that dazn would fail.
Canelo vs kovalev and canelo vs Jacobs werent showed at not 1 bar in my city. Where as canelo vs ggg, chavez jr, khan, and every other canelo ppv were.
Nobody had the ****ing appComment

So tell me the issue? Is it that Americans don't know how to use their phone? This aint about me. The people have spoke.

Because, as stated, they've had good content, good fighters.
You've got to come up with some slightly better logic than 'boxing doesn't work on an app'. Boxing is MORE available via an app and LESS expensive than PPV.Comment

oh americans know how to use their phones...theyre glued to the and even poor americans are willing to spend 1.2k on one when they dont own any property or really much of anythingSo tell me the issue? Is it that Americans don't know how to use their phone?

my gf is obssessed with tik tok(probably a red flag but other than that she is pretty awesome...and is also a 3-8th grade teacher and tries to keep in touch with that age group)....
its probably more like they dont know anything about DAZN.....espn, and even showtime to a lesser degree, is synonymous with american sports.....showtime has been in the boxing game for many years even though its on in less homes than espn...nobody knows what DAZN is.....and even more boxing is not as popular in america as it is in the UK or other countries.....i hate the cliche but its now a niche sport in the US.....yet somehow boxing needs the US to survive....they still do the best gates...they can still sell a ppv if the guys and the fights are marketed and pumped up the right way....all the european fighters long to make it over here....and its probably 10x less popular than it was 20 years ago...and maybe 20x less popular than it was 30 years ago
theres too much available...ala carte tv where you can pay by the app...too much info available...too much streaming and availabilty...people in the US are busy keeping up with each other...having kids and paying a mortgage on a house they can barely afford while trying to take their kids to dance lessons/lacrosse practice.....the US just doesnt care about boxing that much...
yet somehow i will still hear extreme casuals talking about the upcoming wilder fight...or ggg..or canelo......so its still there and hanging around....its just cant seem to truly break through againComment
