The American boxing establishment closed ranks on DAZN and Hearn and its to boxing detriment.

They want to keep the days of 100 bucks for Canelo vs B level opponents twice a year

Ironic, considering DAZN are paying Canelo $35,000,000 per fight and aren't getting the additional monthly subscriptions they anticipated.

Maybe they have a break-out clause where if Canelo loses via KO they can end their agreement? It might be the perfect way to get the Beterbiev fight finally....

And espn are putting there big fights on regular espn or ppv not espn+ because they figured out nobody subscribes when they put a fight on that app. Like tomorrow night for example. Most wont watch alvarez vs Smith because its not on regular espn. Its on espn+.


And lets be clear ufc and boxing arent the same fan base.

Showtime, Sky Sports, ESPN, DAZN. They all have apps. All new TV's have an app store. Apps/streaming is the future. Everyone can see that apart from you it seems.

Yeah Eddie haven't been talking about or mentioning "DAZN" much lately

Not only that but Matchroom USA fighters being let go. Michael Hunter was released, Mo Hooker and Danny Roman signed with PBC and probably more to come.

I think it is the Pandemic thing though, can't really do much in the US right now so instead of holding on to fighters he is likely forced to let guys out of deals to go elsewhere because things are not looking good for anybody right now with this Pandemic and it doesn't look as if it will go away anytime soon

OTT is absolutely the way it will go. Every other type of media has gone that way.

The only thing stopping boxing is the self interest of people who have made their millions doing it via PPV. And these people have serious influence given the chaos in the way boxing is organised.

You don't have to like Eddie Hearn to admit that. It's nothing to do with him or DAZN. It's just the trend in the industry.
