DAZN must be run by three ring circus clowns who learned business through philanthropy.
They gave Canelo 40 million a fight we have been seen him in one decent matchup with Danny Jacobs. This is non-compelling meaningful match avoidance at its very best.
Clearly Canelo is wearing out his super star welcome At DAZN. Who even wants to see Canelo vs GGG at this point? It’s clear Canelo is hopscotching around the strong competition that would create viewership.
Maybe we will get lucky an Oscar will step up to catch a cherry picked beat down by the Franchise Champion. That would atleast be a worthwhile buy.

DAZN does have a say as long as it is a "top" opponent.
But, me being in denial doesn't explain how DAZN could be simultaneously picking/approving opponents yet be "disappointed" in the matchups.
Here's something else for your mistaken idea of how much "control" DAZN has or doesn't have:
"There is no other way to put it: John Skipper is making an absolute mess of the boxing program at DAZN.
He blew it by not having final say on Canelo Alvarez’s opponents, and in the process he blew a major event for the streaming service in September that would have led to a major influx of new subscribers."

That's Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports (who probably has better sources than we do) saying DAZN can't tell Canelo shyt about who he fights.
If Mr. Iole is right, then Canelo WILL fight Yildirim and DAZN WILL pay for it or end up in court.
Either way, it's kinda looking like Canelo has a very slim chance of staying with DAZN through the whole 5 years 365 million.
This relationship could be ending soon.

Only downside is losing Canelo may cost them GBP, which sucks because I like those GBP cards they do. Unknown guys but the fights are entertaining.

Canelo Alvarez isn’t being “ordered” to fight little-known Avni Yildirim next for the vacant World Boxing Council super-middleweight title. Instead, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman explained to The Athletic, this is what Alvarez wants.

Just because the WBC throws this out there doesn't mean it's going to happen, IDK why people are losing their minds like it was Canelo bringing this up, as far as I know the the fight being put together is the Smith fight which was actually close to being agreed with before DAZN sh** all over it because they didn't want to crank open their wallets. So before everyone else starts praising DAZN, it's DAZN that's broke because of their bad management and now don't want to pay the money for a contract they put together. For the type of money Canelo makes his fights need to be on PPV, just like every other star did in the past, a subscription based service on a app for $20 Bucks ain't going to cut it, for that 2 happen they would need 10 million constant subscribers, even Canelo fans will tell you that they are not going to pay $20 a month to watch Canelo fight once or twice a year, places like HBO, Showtime could pull that off because they have other content, DAZN does not. Point is that it's getting to the point where Canelo is wasting time waiting on DAZN to get their sh** together, sooner or later something is going to happen meaning DAZN violated the contract and Canelo could walk, ESPN, Fox, or Showtime would jump all over Canelo, he's not going to get 35 million guaranteed but he will get a very good guarantee with high PPV upside just like the others De la Hoya, PAC, Mayweather, ect etc. And before you come at me with YOUR CRAZY, walk away from 300 million? Yeah because DAZN just doesn't have the money or platform to pay so Canelo is never going to see that money anyway.

Honestly, Blavatnik needs to make Golden Boy their top content provider. No other company can offer DAZN what Golden Boy can i.e. boxing’s past in De La Hoya, the present in Canelo and the future in Vergil Ortiz. Oscar’s comeback will do big numbers for DAZN, Canelo is the face of boxing while Vergil is a future P4P and superstar.
