I couldn't agree more. This fixation on a handful of top boxers by the TV and streaming networks does very little to promote the sport as a whole in this country. Moreover, it focuses too much attention of being undefeated so boxers and their teams are loath to take any risk unless they are paid millions.

MMA has mastered the art of revolving around the fight moreso than the fighters. They have a few crossover guys but they sell well because they reward winning and the action and violence is what sells.

Boxing went the NBA route where they switched form marketing the sport to marketing the individual guys. Then when they get these network deals it doesn't feel like I am watching a fight, it feels like I am watching one HBO/SHO/ESPN/DAZN employee uplift another employee rather than be a nutral observer calling a fight like the MMA guys.

DAZN should bring in Paulie as well. A knowledgeable announcer, calling a fight in a neutral matter would make the sport more enjoyable for me.

Loma over Rigo “don’t count Rigo was a tiny old BW moving up he was not considered a top fighter anymore”

Crawford “ Hahahahahaha never even looked at another top fighter”

Spence over Porter “ lol porter is not elite he’s a b level fighter”

And when if Canelo destroyers that no chin stiff euro level bum Buterrbieve you know what’s gonna he said “ oh don’t count anymore butterbieve never beat a top fighter himself and was 34 already and had been dropped several times by bums so don’t count” lol

See I can play that game too On and on and on lol
Nice try at deflecting. Beterbiev is in his prime. So is Bivol. the only reason Canelo didn't stay at light heavy was because he knew fans and media was demand that he unify and he doesn't like his chances against either guy. Canelo reminds me of a hyena -- very bold and opportunistic when the male lion is not around, very cowardly when he is. His whole career has been crafted on very measured risks involving fights that likely go the distance or fighting welterweights moving up in weight (Khan, Cesar Pablo Cano, Hatton's cousin Matthew). Most fans haven't closely followed his career, but I have, so I know all about the gift decisions, set-up fights and the guys he's avoided like Ebola Virus. Of the fighters your hero has ducked, none is more egregious than Andrade. Canelo was mandatory to Boo Boo for the WBO 154 title. Canelo created his own catch weight of 155 we jokingly called "Caneloweight". The WBO strips Andrade for no good reason. Canelo magically reappears as the WBO 154 mandatory when it's revealed he's in line to fight Beefy Smith (some soda can from the UK) for the WBO belt. We all know what happened next. But Andrade doesn't go away and the WBO instates him as the mandatory for his old title. Canelo flees the jr. middleweight and his new WBO 154 title with the quickness. After repeatedly saying he'd face Andrade in a unification at middleweight, Canelo once again reneges and manages to duck this man in a second weight class.

This is an abbreviated timeline of your hero's cowardice. Facts do not lie.

You’re right, DAZN should bring in Paulie but not as an announcer but as Oscar’s comeback opponent. I’m sure the pillow fisted Magic Man can make 154 lbs. Dude, does a lot of talking which would help w/t the promotion of the fight. The Golden Boy Vs. The Magic Man would be a good match to see where Oscar at.

You should be banned for this LOL. Now we all know I hate ODH but him coming back isn't a good thing.

Hate him all you want but the Golden Boy‘s comeback is the talk of the sport. If Oscar remains with DAZN and that is a big if a lot of casuals would subscribe to watch the Golden Boy’s return on DAZN. There’s nothing that Hearn can provide that would do as big as numbers as Oscar’s comeback fight.

I just don't want to see ODH killed or suffer a sever beating. I want him to get KTFO so I can make some jokes but not get brain damage or anything. Yes, it would draw fans but is that a good enough reason to make a fight with ODH.

No more ODH. No more Floyd. No more Tyson and Jones. Lets use the COVID to re set things. Do away with all network deals so the top fights can be made. Lets make the in ring action and the sport the focus.

That is funny! Paulie vs Oscar would be a welcome change of pace. I think that Oscar, in his prime, was 2 or 3 level above Paulie, but that was long ago so I have to give Paulie an edge on this fight -- particulary if it is scheduled for more than 4 rounds. As much as Oscar abused his body with drugs and such, he was "old" when he was young. Had Oscar taken care of himself like his business partner, Bernard Hopkins, did Oscar could have fought at the championship level another 5 years. Paulie would be too much for him now. In fact, I would put money on Claressa Shields if she fought Oscar.

Yes, Paulie is a good announcer, but here's a thought on an announcing dream team for all championship fights. It would consist of Arum, Hearn, De La Hoya, and Haymon. Well, maybe not Haymon, because he is never seen in public.

Why should they? No one deserves anywhere near 20 million dollars to fight Yildirim. It's pretty pathetic that you Canelo fans are so up Canelo's ******** that you blindly accept whatever opponent he and Golden Boy have set up for him to fight. It's pathetic. Fans like you are the problem with boxing. As long as people have your bias and gullible fanboy worshipping attitude nothing will ever change. Accepting whatever garbage matchup Goldenboy and Canelo wants lowers the quality of pro boxing and is contradictory to a pro sport where the best should have to fight the best.
