Both fighters agreed to no interm fights.

ESPN gave Bob 4.7 million for the fighters.

Original split was 3.5 and 1.2.

Lomachenko took a reduced purse to relieved the company and make this fight. His contractual guarantee is more than 3.5 million.

Teo complained and does not have such guarantee.

Bob said Teo needs to understand that this is not pre-covid and could not meet their financial demands which Teo Sr was on record saying 3M+

Team Teo threatened to kill the fight and fight their mandatory.

Team Lomachenko said if Lopez doesn't want the fight they would look elsewhere too.

Team Lomachenko gifted Teo 250k to make his purse an even 1.5 in an attempt to save the fight

    Team Lopez accepted.

Lopez is a nobody and he got cornered. "Hold out for your worth"

Might as well get as much when your career is going to be ended Oct 17th right?
Pretty much the gist of what went down. More likely than not, Teo was holding out for way more than that but reality slapped him in the face when they realized Arum/Loma were willing to leave him out to dry and move on....but kudos to teo on the extra 250k,that's a whole lot of beefaroni and mac n cheese to feed his family.

This is one of the most anticipated fights this year but I have a feeling this is going to get canceled or rescheduled. I don't know if it's because of the second wave of covid-19 that's to hit in the fall or Loma or Lopez will either get sick or injured during training. This fight being rescheduled couple of times just seems like a sign that it's just not meant to happen.

Im pretty sure that pre Covid he was slated to make around that 3 million figure his dad was talking about but times have changed.

Plus the publicity wasn't good for Teo.

Imagine calling a guy out for 2 years telling everyone how great you are and how easy the fight will be only to immediately turn down the offer because it wasnt what you thought it would be.

Arum himself said this is a take it or leave it deal. There isn't enough money and at that time Lomachenko had already chosen to take a reduced purse.

It was only then Lomachenko stepped in and reduced his purse even further.

10/10 times that isnt gonna happen in boxing.

If the school bully tells you 3 o clock and that beating your ass will be easy and he doesn't show hes afraid of you. Now imagine after telling you 3 o clock and all day he has his friends making excuses for him and why he can't show.

        Looks bad.

Then hes forced to show up at 3 because every is calling him a coward.

You tell me man. These people.

I love Uncle Bob! Always making thangs happen. Can’t wait for this fight. I feel like it’s gonna be Khan vs. Garcia all over again. Lopez is gonna land that lucky punch and K.O. Loma.

Just like when Canelo gave GGG a WAY higher split than he deserved to make the second fight happen. GGG thought he could duck the fight asking for a ridiculous 45% split that nobody in the world thought he deserved. Canelo called his bluff and gifted him MILLIONS to make the fight happen because Canelo actually cares about legacy

How will Loma keep the bigger/stronger Teo pressure off him? Loma's punch output will not keep Teo from pressuring, landing the bigger KO type punches off of Loma...IMO...

Yea it's quite hilarious how some posters try and spin the narrative when it's clear as day what goes down In certain situations...or even certain posters on this board and they're veiled attempts at being impartial posters but it's clear what they are and what they represent. You calling them out in the other thread was gold bro👍

ESPN has been a great partner to Bob. Hope this lasts. This level of fight on ESPN is huge. Bob needs to take the cost savings and promote the hell out of this. The winner is a superstar!!!
