I think I know what he's talking about the showboating. If I remember correctly, it happened in the Silva fight where Lopez had jumped up and punched his opponent and another where he had his back facing Silva and did a quick spin and hit Silva, kind of like a spinning attack that you would see in mma or some video game.

P.S. I think there should be fines issued for "unsportsmanlike conduct" because that type of behavior shouldn't be in boxing. It's fined in other sports, so it should be fined in boxing. It might open a can of worms because people will have different definitions of "unsportsmanlike conduct" and might include showboating, such as Burton's style, but it should be fined. Lopez should have been fined for that act.

Yeah. Judging from his comment, what's his name, Sven? Szef ... he's saying one of two things. If we take his comment at face value, he's saying that he doesn't like Muhammed Ali, doesn't like Naseem Hamed, doesn't like Floyd Mayweather Jr., doesn't like Tyson Fury, doesn't like Roy Jones, Jr., doesn't like Teofimo, doesn't like Billy Joe Sanders, doesn't like basically half of the boxers in boxing. On face value, that's what he's saying.

But if he likes even one of those other boxers, then he's picking and choosing who he likes for another reason or reasons other than showboating.

I brought up Emanuel Augustus because he used dance as a means to effectively come in and out of distance, switch from southpaw to orthodox, elude and feint his opponents. It was more than showboating, but the judges couldn't see that and would score the other boxer the winner when Augustus clearly was the winner. That's one reason why I think disliking showboating should not compromise a fighter's fighting ability. Not saying he would score them unfairly but it kind of sounds that way when fighting ability and showboating are used in the same sentence that way.

Anyway, that's why that comment didn't make any sense to me, unless he also dislikes all those other boxers I mentioned. If he's consistent there, then maybe he really doesn't like it. But like I said, if he likes just one of those other boxers, well then ... what's the real reason?

I was explaining why I don't think disliking showboating should impact a fighter's ability in the ring. I was addressing your statement. You can dislike whomever you want. I don't care. But you said his showboating is so much that it makes you not like him as a fighter (not sure to whom you are referring, whether it's Loma or Lopez).

You are not the only one who has this sentiment because I've seen judges carry this as well.

They're fortnite dance victories they're imitating and yes it is poor sportsmanship especially since the opponent could seriously be hurt but in the case with Magdaleno fans defended that behavior saying that Magdaleno talked trash before the fight when he said that Honduras sucks at soccer but Lopez was told to stop with the Fortnite antics and that he needs to show more humility, but when you got a dad like Lopez Sr that calls young kids a disgrace, like that time he did to Ryan Garcia at the Munguia and Smith fight, you set a bad example for your own which explains why Lopez refuses to be humble in the sport. His demeanor is the same as Rollies which makes sense that they're friends and share a common enemy in Ryan Garcia.

I'm not a fan of showboating either. One of the funniest things in boxing is when a fighter gets tagged in the middle of showboating.

It isn't enough to stop me being a fan though of Loma though. I consider it a minor con compared to a huge list of pros.

And Loma is doing show boating against lesser competitions. Love to see someone knocks him out.
