The bold: We are too nice for not asking them to eat their crow. That's the problem with fanboys. They jump in without knowledge.
[The guy who has a problem with my avi, I consider Davis the best current African American fighter, followed by Crawford, Spence (maybe not anymore), Lubin. To each his own.]
only trolls would post something like that but this guy is not even trolling...he really meant itComment

Interesting, I get the "word of the day" from a dictionary website, and the word was "tergiversate." This is exactly what Lopez Sr. is doing. I get it. Loma forced them to fight when they didn't really want to and so too did the public. (And to anyone else reading this who doesn't believe this is true, you know the public had a huge effect when he's calling them "dumb asses." No body does that unless they've been bothered.)
But the fact he changed his mind for an additional 250k says everything. He was pushed into this fight when he didn't want it right now. Granted, that extra cash can buy him a nice new car and some fancy suits, but it overlooks the fact that if they meant what they said, they would have taken the fight at 1.2 mil rather than 1.45 mil.
I mean, how else can anyone look at that in any other way?
And the only reason I'm making a big deal about this is out of principle. You can't come talking that trash and then not jump in the ring immediately, especially when you just went from 1.2 mil to 1.4 mil.
For me, if you're going to talk trash, you have to back that trash talking up 100 percent. I'm not a fan of disrespect and trash talking, especially when it goes on for two years or more, and then the actions don't match the words. That for me is shameful.Comment

It isn't enough to stop me being a fan though of Loma though. I consider it a minor con compared to a huge list of pros.Comment

Oh yeah. Those guys are just contradicting themselves right and left. I think that is a huge sign right there.

And i think that too. A measly 250k if the sources are right. He was willing to fight for considerably less than the original 1.2million offer.
Doesn't make sense to me unless he didnt want it and got walled into it. Especially with that deleted tweet.Comment

Replace those Ks with Ms lol.

Yeah. Exactly. He got walled into it.I think this will be a la Rigondeaux. I really do. I'm starting to think that he might "No Mas" him. It's kind of a bad sign when, if you read between the lines, it's obvious that he doesn't want to fight right now.

I think I know what he's talking about the showboating. If I remember correctly, it happened in the Silva fight where Lopez had jumped up and punched his opponent and another where he had his back facing Silva and did a quick spin and hit Silva, kind of like a spinning attack that you would see in mma or some video game.Comment

Trash talk is trash talk but lines get crossed when it becomes personal. Ask Lopez why he doesn't like Lomachenko and he doesn't have a good answer. Lomachenko has good reason to despise Lomachebko as Team Lopez was the instigator in this feud.
I feel this has Mikey Garcia vs Spence vibes. Myself I knew better. Lopez isn't ready and if he can catch Loma fine. But good luck. Youre gonna need to have the best camp of your life and hope Loma isn't bringing his A gameComment

But if he likes even one of those other boxers, then he's picking and choosing who he likes for another reason or reasons other than showboating.
I brought up Emanuel Augustus because he used dance as a means to effectively come in and out of distance, switch from southpaw to orthodox, elude and feint his opponents. It was more than showboating, but the judges couldn't see that and would score the other boxer the winner when Augustus clearly was the winner. That's one reason why I think disliking showboating should not compromise a fighter's fighting ability. Not saying he would score them unfairly but it kind of sounds that way when fighting ability and showboating are used in the same sentence that way.
Anyway, that's why that comment didn't make any sense to me, unless he also dislikes all those other boxers I mentioned. If he's consistent there, then maybe he really doesn't like it. But like I said, if he likes just one of those other boxers, well then ... what's the real reason?Comment
