Fighters today are mentally weak, not so much physically.

Those were different times back then, fighters left the ring in stretchers. A lot of fights now a days more often than not get stopped early, especially given the recent deaths.

Reason they gave cutting down from 15 was the brain damage between rd 12-15.

      I can't even imagine a fight going 15 in 2020.

And yes those 15 rds would destroy fighters like Joshua, Canelo etc that have shown stamina issues. Those 3 rds would be detrimental to a lot of fighters careers regardless of how hard they trained.

If they trained for 15 rounds, of course they could. Athletes train for the requirements of their sport.

What this thread comes down to is damage. The tv viewer will never see it but fighters live with it daily. Damage. Your $50 does not, nor will it ever, mend a fighter of the damage inflicted. 12 rounds is long enough...……….Rockin'

Championship fights should be 13 rounds. There's a reason why "the best of" is always an odd number. Too many draws in boxing and having an extra round would help curb that amount.

Recently, guys like Floyd, Margarito, absolutely.

                A guy like Fury, probably.

The real question is, how many can go 47 rounds? Boxing didn't start in the 60s.

Its in the training and fight pacing, if the distance for title fightes was 15 they be all doing it. you think mankind has gone backwards lol, its amazes me how anybody could think they couldnt.

47 rnds throwing 6 punches a round and taking 10 steps is nothing, they were just plodders nothing like the speed intensity and power of today.

Today main events are always 12 rounds. If a boxer can go 12 rounds all the time then he probably can go 15 rounds as well. I wish they would bring back 15 round title fights.
North American title were 12 rounds back than World Title 15 rounds What I wish they would bring back is One title Holder or at least WBC WBA so the ducking stops. I remember back in the day the number 1 and 2 contenders would fight to see who fights for the title holder

I would say the boxers are as fit as ever in today's sport so physically it's possible but we don't know the brutality of the fight they're in.

Boxers today would just adapt to the situation they are in, the only difference being we could see different results.. now that would be interesting..

Very interesting from Froch. He's one guy I think could do 15.
