Analysis: Why Danny 'Swift' Garcia beats Terence 'Smoke' Crawford

To all the people on NSB that say Swift is unskilled simply because he lost to two of the top dogs.

Crawford's temper is tailor made for Swift. Kavaliauskas two-pieced him with ease, then wobbled and dropped him. The two-piece was fresh off a bait trap.

AND, Danny already beat the man in the ams. But since then, Danny's had way more experience against top, tough opposition than Crawford.

If Danny Swift throws his No Look Hook™ off a beautiful feint counter like he did Morales after Crawford rushes in like he did against Kavaliauskas, OR if Crawford is ****** enough to stand and **** with Danny, Crawford WILL get hit. That's when we'll know if he's packing glass.

Crawford got rocked by an undersized gamboa and dropped by mean machine. I'm not sold on crawfords chin. Danny can definitely starch him with his Left hook.

It is completely irrelevant, because they will never fight. Danny fights Spence, Crawford probably fights Brook or some 50 old Top rank guy like Collazzo.

We never know. Danny could pull out an upset on car crash Spence, which essentially forces either Danny/Manny (assuming Manny isn't retired by then) or Danny/Crawford for unification.

          You are right there.

Danny would be very tough test for Crawford, for sure.

to be fair, Swift offers that same danger to EVERYONE

in the Khan fight, Danny threw a lot of those hooks at Khan in the preceding minutes/rounds... not sure what Khan was thinking to be honest, that hook was inching closer and closer

it started off missing by about a foot... then 6 inches... then 4... then a couple missed by about 1 or 2 inches... then... ****

Crawford has better ringIQ... but, he does get hit

Thurman will make Crawford look ordinary.

Khan was thinking what actually did happen - he would land first and faster. He did - it just didn't matter, because Danny squares up ready to eat a punch he knows is coming at him just to land a Hail Mary. It's that right there that makes the man dangerous as hell in the pocket.

All I know is, I saw Crawford chase Kavaliauskas and leave himself wide open to counters while frequently eating punches upstairs. I also saw him stand and trade with Gamboa seconds before he got wobbled. He can't eat too much of that from Danny, but his temper will go off and he will start throwing to try and make it a fight...and end up on the mat.

that's it, right there... that is why I said Swift poses that same danger to EVERYONE

still, he could not KO guys like Redkach Porter Thurman Guerrero... and Crawford is more skilled/well-rounded than those guys

All four of those guys fought Danny cautiously and only one of them has temper issues (Guerrero) that he didn't let get out of control.

Crawford loses his temper in EVERY fight.

I said it before - the one weakness he has is his temper. He makes mistakes every time and he gets touched too frequently. Khan landed more jabs on Crawford than anyone else, Kavaliauskas two-pieced, wobbled and dropped him, which made Crawford fight dirty to wear him down, and one-legged Benavidez almost took him the full distance.

If those guys were easily able to land on Terence Crawford, Danny will land on Smoke Crawford.

As far as Danny's power, it's only lessened when the opponent is calm and ready to take the punch they know is coming. Porter ate a lot of the hooks, but he was ready to receive it each time and he wasn't pissed throwing for the fences like Crawford tends to do.

The only way Crawford stops Danny is to toss another elite low blow.
