the only way lopez is getting more than $1.2M is if ESPN thinks he's worth more than that and will put out more money for him.

Yeah. But unlike stocks and bonds, you've got someone who'll come along and take your ****, take your belt; plus you will be reviled by the public. It might be the same as seeing that the company you've invested so much into is filing for bankruptcy.

Now that he's a champ, he's not going to be gifted with matchmaker magic. He's going to have to fight contenders now. Losing that belt is a real possibility. And then he'll never get a shot at lightweight unification.

trust me...i want this fight as much as the next guy...its one of the better ones that can be made in the sport...

but lopez isnt going to take less than he feels its worth to him....i know lopez and his dad arent the brightest bunch but i think they know a little about the biz...or at least someone around them does....they feel like this is short money

its a risk either way...but its less risky for lopez to lose this fight and take easier ones for less money over the next year and a half.....there are some who swear that loma will dominate this kid and embarrass him so bad that hell never be the same after( i personally think thats a crock but i know its certainly possible too)......so why would he take less than he feels the fight is worth? because a bunch of guys who will never see that kind of money in a year say so? because a bunch of fans who want to watch it say so?

i understand the frustration...but i dont think bob ever really wanted to do this fight..unless its on his terms...and if it got killed it was always going to be teos fault in the eyes of the fans.....

I have some news for you. Espn don't give a f about boxing like they do the UFC. They are not gonna give more cash and over pay like DAZN especially when Lopez is unknown.

Yeah. Maybe. As far as being scared of Loma, I'm sure he is. If he were as confident as he says he is, we would have already read about Lopez singing that contract. And I'm not just saying this. I've seen some "tells," if you will, by this kid. I know anxiety when I see it; I know the "smell of fear." And that kid, for all his bravado, is scared as ****. I'm really not just saying this. I know it, but I thought he'd stick to his word, his trash talk. Oh well. It's going to be ugly for him now. Lopez messing up big time 1.2 million right now is a lot of money he knows he isn't making lightweight much longer it's his chance to unify and make a bigger name for himself and more money will come after the pandemic but sounds like him and his team are not that confident anymore if him and his dad really think they can beat Loma they should take the fight and prove it but declining double your biggest purse especially in times like this is basically a duck you got all these other champions who I'm sure are taking cuts as well and they are far more established.

Lopez isn't doing the exact same thing as cvnts like Saunders & Smith have been doing because those guys were already getting several million but would prefer delaying the canelo fight to fight bums & make more in the long run,but Teo is only being offered so lil by Arums btch ass & is only asking for slightly more(normal negotiating),& Arum is acting like he always does when he wants to kill a fight over ****** greed.

Lopez, Garcia, Haney, all these guys need to stop acting like diva's. They haven't proven anything of note yet and they are demanding the stars and the moon. Don't these guys realize that to get top caliber money they actually need to beat top caliber opponents? And not before. It mirrors the Canelo situation, where these guys think they deserve a boat load of money just for getting a shot at a top guy. The way it actually suppose to go is you take the fight with the money offered (over a million bucks is nothing to sneeze at) you beat the top dog, and then you become the top dog and then you could ask for crazy amounts of money, not the other way around.
