the only way lopez is getting more than $1.2M is if ESPN thinks he's worth more than that and will put out more money for him.

looks like they don't because he is already looking to fight his mandatory for $300K. that's $900K going down the ****ter

Now that he's a champ, he's not going to be gifted with matchmaker magic. He's going to have to fight contenders now. Losing that belt is a real possibility. And then he'll never get a shot at lightweight unification.
yeah your next fight, no matter who it is, is always a risk....but lesser opponents are less risk.....teo fighting his mando over loma is a huge disparity in risk...and so would the guy after that...yes the money is less but on a weighted scale its the same....

the ibf rankings dont scare anyone....certainly dont think they scare lopez...he went after the commey belt/fight because he wanted it and was confident and wanted the loma fight.....he might not get the fight because the promoter wants to kill it or is offering less than he feels its worth...and i think lopez is within reason in thinking thats a little light....if he was out here asking for 2-3 mil then ok...maybe .....

lopez didnt go after commey to get his belt and talk all the **** he did to back out because hes "scared" of loma....just so he could back out over money when he never really wanted it in the first place....lopez isnt built like that at all...its simply a disagreement over his worth between his camp and arum...and we all know how arum is

Man, arum has been robbing boxers for 60 yrs. Pay the kid his money you old greedy f**k. Bad enough he blew Gamboa vs Juanma when it should've happened. Didn't let Crawford wash pac when he had the chance. Just make the damn fight.

but lopez isnt going to take less than he feels its worth to him....i know lopez and his dad arent the brightest bunch but i think they know a little about the biz...or at least someone around them does....they feel like this is short money

its a risk either way...but its less risky for lopez to lose this fight and take easier ones for less money over the next year and a half.....there are some who swear that loma will dominate this kid and embarrass him so bad that hell never be the same after( i personally think thats a crock but i know its certainly possible too)......so why would he take less than he feels the fight is worth? because a bunch of guys who will never see that kind of money in a year say so? because a bunch of fans who want to watch it say so?

i understand the frustration...but i dont think bob ever really wanted to do this fight..unless its on his terms...and if it got killed it was always going to be teos fault in the eyes of the fans.....
I have some news for you. Espn don't give a f about boxing like they do the UFC. They are not gonna give more cash and over pay like DAZN especially when Lopez is unknown.

Yeah. Maybe. As far as being scared of Loma, I'm sure he is. If he were as confident as he says he is, we would have already read about Lopez singing that contract. And I'm not just saying this. I've seen some "tells," if you will, by this kid. I know anxiety when I see it; I know the "smell of fear." And that kid, for all his bravado, is scared as ****. I'm really not just saying this. I know it, but I thought he'd stick to his word, his trash talk. Oh well. It's going to be ugly for him now. Whether you think he's guilty or not (and I'm not going to pass judgment), the public is going to crucify him.

Lopez messing up big time 1.2 million right now is a lot of money he knows he isn't making lightweight much longer it's his chance to unify and make a bigger name for himself and more money will come after the pandemic but sounds like him and his team are not that confident anymore if him and his dad really think they can beat Loma they should take the fight and prove it but declining double your biggest purse especially in times like this is basically a duck you got all these other champions who I'm sure are taking cuts as well and they are far more established.

Fans or no fans in the arena, Lina is a dangerous fight. If Lopez wants to get paid a certain amount for it he has the right to seek that. And if he takes 300k while he waits out the situation that seems pretty smart to me.

Surprised that all you guys just take whatever somebody throws at you. Would hate to see you guys in times of a work strike. You’d be the first to cross back over the picket line. Lol

LMAO! Ok...Have at it then. Go ask for more money in a tanked economy and with no live gate LMAO. Enjoy sitting on the shelf for the rest of 2020 Buddy, or fighting for 200K vs some obscure D level fighter on ESPN + on a tuesday night .

This kid *****ed up a would be career high payday and on regular espn with millions watching and blew it.

Arum is already plotting ways in his head to railroad his career now.

Lopez isn't doing the exact same thing as cvnts like Saunders & Smith have been doing because those guys were already getting several million but would prefer delaying the canelo fight to fight bums & make more in the long run,but Teo is only being offered so lil by Arums btch ass & is only asking for slightly more(normal negotiating),& Arum is acting like he always does when he wants to kill a fight over ****** greed.

Espn is able to spend an extra few hundred thousand to finally get a successful hit boxing match for once with Top Stanks sorry ass having already cost them like a billion dollars while providing bs stanky mismatches with no fans & no ratings to justify it.

Arum is completely fos as usual & is worried that Loma gets beaten by Teo.(likely imo)

How cany anyone possibly buy arums bs in acting like its a big deal for espn to give teo a few hundred k more. Espn/Bob Harem/Top Rank would all get way more off everyone whos sitting at home who will surely watch this fight.

Lopez, Garcia, Haney, all these guys need to stop acting like diva's. They haven't proven anything of note yet and they are demanding the stars and the moon. Don't these guys realize that to get top caliber money they actually need to beat top caliber opponents? And not before. It mirrors the Canelo situation, where these guys think they deserve a boat load of money just for getting a shot at a top guy. The way it actually suppose to go is you take the fight with the money offered (over a million bucks is nothing to sneeze at) you beat the top dog, and then you become the top dog and then you could ask for crazy amounts of money, not the other way around.
