Teo Lopez responds to the backlash

Namely, in what world does Linares get damn near 50/50, Pedraza gets 33.3%, but Teofimo Lopez gets offered less than 27%.
See, I don't fanboy.
I look at facts.
And the fact here is that Arum is offering Lopez a smaller percentage than ANY OTHER CHAMPION THAT LOMA HAS FACED BEFORE.
If you don't think Lopez has a legit beef over that, then just admit it isn't about the sport or fairness to you. Admit you just like your Loma pompoms and I'll respect you more for being honest.Comment

So, you're admitting that you have no way of confirming that 3.25 million is a pay cut.
You're "assuming" Loma got more for Campbell. I'm assuming he got the same (like a contract with ESPN often paying a set minimum amount) or less. The ppv only did 205,000 buys...and not US buys but UK buys which is a third of the price here.
As for Teo, whenever fanboys either wave pompoms for who they like or low-rate the potential opponents for who they like, invariably the phrase "it's his biggest payday" gets offered as a final argument.
It isn't.
It IS a valid point. And, as someone who wants to see the fight, I wish Teo would take it.
But, I can't call it a duck when Lopez rightfully points out he is being treated differently than other champions Lomachenko faced.
When Loma challenged for Linares's belt, Jorge got 1 million and Loma got 1.2 million. When Loma took on Pedraza for Jose's belt, Loma got twice as much as Pedraza, 2 million to 1 million.
So, here's Teo, an undefeated champion who is a better draw than both and he gets offered a percentage that's less than either of those two?
I don't have to prove shyt till someone explains that nice piece of illogic.
Teo is definitely worth more than Linares or Pedraza and if there was no COVID-19 and this was happening in MSG or Barclay's, it would be Lopez's fans buying all the tickets, not Loma's.Comment

Lots of valid points here. Most real fans just want to see the fight and if that means Loma or Lopez giving way a little in negotiations then great. In this case I think Lopez is getting more criticism because he seemed to go out of his way to call for this fight and talk as if Lomachenko would never fight him and now the offer is there and he's saing 1M+ isn't enough to feed his family which just seems silly
You could feed a helluva lot of families with 1.2 million, no one is dis*****g that. Every real fan of the sport wishes he'd take it, especially given all the wolf tickets Teo was selling about wanting the fight.
It's like Patrick Ewing during the NBA strike way back in the day saying something like "yeah we make a lot of money but we spend a lot of money!". And, if Teo shows up to his next interview with those nonprescription eyeglasses that make him look like a college professor, I might lose it.
But, none of these things change the fact that Teo has a valid point...namely, that he deserves more than what is essentially a 75/25 split, especially when lesser fighters both in ability and box office appeal got more.
It's naive to say he is trying to avoid a fight by pointing out the truth.
Given what others got, Teo should be getting in the 40% or so range, about 1.8 million.Comment

1.2 mil for lomachenko is peanuts. Lopez vs loma will be one of the biggest fights of the year.
Not only that, they're probably gonna put it on ppv. If they want to be fair, they should give him a percentage. This will be a huge fight. All the Latinos will buy this fight. It will do over 500k.Comment

exactly! the guy will be able to command more money IF he beats loma its that simple but he has to earn those future paychecks by beating one of the best in loma. he talked a lot about how he was going to do this and that to loma and now he has a chance to make the fight he *****ES OUT! he knows he can't beat loma and is clearly trying to cash out his undefeated record. its even possible he does not want the fight at all and will price himself out.Comment

The guy is obsess with CrawfordEven when it has nothing to do with Crawford he would find a way to interject him into a thread, the same poster who tried to falsely accused Breazeale of attacking Wilder and his family, and when told he was wrong ran off like a little beetch. Terrible poster.

Again, it's ok if you decide to get all up in your feelings instead of answering a simple question.

Linares made 1 million.
Pedraza made 1.2 million
Crolla 800k
Teofimo during this pandemic is saying 1.2 million is a low ball. You have no fscts that say Lopez is a bigger draw and your own logic is flawed because even IF he could draw a gate there WILL BE NO GATE. Are you really too ****** to understand that?
Lopez is about as accomplished as ****kng Anthony Crolla and is not a multi weight champion like Linares and Pedraza.
Lomachenko worked his way up and earned his money. Against Linares he made 1.2 million which is the EXACT SAME AMOUNT Teo is being asked to accept.
1.2 million is no lowball.
Lomachenko made
1.2 against Linares
2 against Pedraza
3.25 agaisnt Crolla
****ing logic would say two fights later he would be making more. But for someone like you it don't ****ing fit you agenda does it?
Duck duck duck. Quack quack quack.
Lopez said himself he would fight with or without fans. That implies that he knows with no gate he would make less than he would with.
But nah man. Duck squad.Comment
