Oscar De La Hoya 2020 vs Canelo Alvarez

We all know this is the fight that's coming. Oscar is a proud, competitive man and Canelo is an ingrate. It might seem easy to write Oscar off in this fight but let's take a closer look.

Oscar has a fighting warrior spirit which Mike Tyson will tell you is most important. Let's examine Oscar's plus column.

    Power:

Vicious KO's of Jeff Mayweather, Llamar Williams, Curtis Strong, Darryl Tyson, David Kamau, Oba Carr and Derrell Coley among others. Oscar has deceitful punching power and has had enough years of healing to let his body settle at the higher weights where he had trouble with bigger and stronger fighters.

    Ring Generalship:

Absolute Boxing Mastery over Pernell Whitaker, Ike Quartey, Felix Trinidad, Shane Mosley, Steve Forbes, Floyd Mayweather and was doing a number on Bernard Hopkins, who once held the light Heavyweight title and whom former Junior Lightweight ODLH moved up in weight to face, before being hit with an illegal kidney shot.

    Speed:

Oscar's blazing speed allowed him to maneuver at will against supposed speedsters such as Whitaker, J & F Mayweather and Shane Mosley who was also benefiting from Performance Enhancing Drugs during his fights against Oscar.

    Chin:

Oscar has a world class chin. Proof of this was his ability to EASILY absorb headshots, cheap shots, rabbit punches and even elbows from known power punchers like Felix Trinidad, Ike Quartey and Bernard Hopkins who wasn't necessarily a power puncher unless you consider the fact that Oscar came all the way from Junior Lightweight to face the future Lineal Light Heavyweight Champion. Even Lineal Light Heavyweight Champion Bernard Hopkins could not phase Oscar's chin and had to punch him in the kidney to end the nightmare of being ran out of the ring by The Golden Boy.

    Canelo Alvarez

We all know Canelo's strengths and weaknesses. We've seen his brutalizing KO of James Kirkland and others as well as his ring mastery over slicksters Shane and Larry Mosley, Austin Trout and Daniel Jacobs. But we have also seen Canelo's lack of focus which allowed Floyd Mayweather to eek out a Majority Decision over Canelo by stealing the 12th round in their meeting.

    Age vs Youth?

Canelo, despite his younger age, has already had 56 fights over a career span of 14 years. Canelo has lived a clean life however, with no incidences of alcohol and his lone brush being an arbitrary accusation of PED use which was completely disproven in extreme fashion, proving that Canelo has never been anything but a clean, honest fighter.

De La Hoya in contrast has only had 45 fights of mileage in his 16 years as a pugilistic master. Oscar has been robbed of a clean lifestyle however due to his handlers slipping ******* and alcohol into his near beers. Oscar did combat the poisonings however by completing drug and alcohol rehabilitations and restoring his body back to its normal condition with a rest period of more than a decade.

    Outcome:

Canelo stalks De La Hoya, swinging vicious body and head shots which Oscar easily deflects over the first four rounds. By round 5, a familiar pattern of boredom and frustration sets in for Canelo and Oscar starts scoring points. In round 9, Oscar rips a left hook/uppercut into Canelo's right eye opening a 4 inch gash. The ring doctor takes a look and reluctantly gives the OK for the fight to continue. Canelo goes into desperation mode swinging wildly but due to fatigue and distraction from the eye, does not have the sharpness to connect with anything meaningful. The fight is even entering the 12th. The fighters touch gloves and Oscar begins ripping power jabs into Canelo's cut eye as Canelo lumbers forward not really knowing what to do. Mid way through the round Canelo begins wiping his eye dramatically and Oscar seizes the moment, driving Canelo into the ropes with a flurry of pitty-pat punches which have little effect aside from forcing the ref to intervene with only 45 seconds left.

    Epilogue:

Oscar opens a strip club across the street from Girl Collection and within 6 months buys the defaulted GC building for pennies on the dollar, ultimately razing the GC building in order to build a parking structure for Oscar's wildly successful club "The Golden Girls" which completely takes over the Las Vegas Strip Club industry in less than 2 years.

Easy KO for Canelo Alvarez within the first 3 rounds. Can't get hit by real middleweight power at 50 years of age and still be standing. Now if they were both at their best it would be a different story since Oscar was a tremendous fighter.

I respect Oscar and his career however I think he loses to Canelo. For me the age difference is the deciding factor. I can't see DLH winning this fight

I don't know this fight is coming and I think there is no way it ever happens. Maybe you forgot that little Pac beat the hell out of Oscar 12 years ago. Now Oscar is 12 years older and 12 years worse. You don't get better from age 35 to age 47 even if you live right and train. It is part of the aging process and nobody can change that. I doubt Oscar comes back at all. He is constantly talking about it but he never actually does it. If he spars with top rated middleweights he will get his 47 year old ass kicked and forget the comeback. I think today's Canelo would easily beat the prime 28 year old Oscar. I think he would slaughter the 47 year old Oscar and knock him out in a round or two.

Forget Bernard Hopkins, De La Hoya was knocked down hard by fùcking Giorgio Campanella.

EDIT: OK you got me, only now I realized that you were joking us around. Good one!

Pacquiao haters say Oscar was old when he fought Manny more than 10 years ago. How the hell could he stand a chance against Canelo now?

You say Canelo's accusation of ped use has been completely disproved in extreme fashion proving Canelo has never been anything but a clean honest fighter. This not true at all. There is no doubt Canelo had an illegal substance in his system. There is no way to know if it came from bad meat or if he took it on purpose. It all depends on what someone wants to believe. Some think he ate bad meat and some think he cheated. It has not been proven he was innocent and it never will be. It is impossible to know for sure one way or the other. Either you take Canelo's word that he ate bad meat or you don't believe him and think he cheated on purpose.

Couldn't think of a second character? Or were you planning to come back to the other name besides Bluto and got distracted by your wife's phone buzzing and then saw the preview message "Did ass head leave yet?" on her screen before she swooped it up and read it then smiled in a way you haven't seen her smile since she agreed to be your wife which entails dry-heaving while scrubbing skid marks out of your shorts, buying her clothes at wal-mart and crying herself to sleep at night?
