Honestly, if Vergil isn’t able to get a big name next, I wouldn’t mind seeing him wreck Josh Kelly never liked that fool’s face. Also, Vergil & Kelly are both ranked in the WBC top 15 @ 147 so it would inch the winner closer at a title shot.

He would mess up Kelly.

He isn't ready for Thurman,Garcia nor Porter. None of them are Samuel Vargas🥊

The only one Ortiz should worry about is Porter

But Ortiz imo , would win candidly vs Thurman and Garcia

Why 4-5 years ?
The kid is 22 years old and already fighting a veteran like Vargas , who is no pushover
This kid will be the face of boxing
He's charismatic , well spoken and is getting a good push from GBP’s
I think he would of taken Vargas out earlier if Garcia was in the corner

Too early. All guys mentioned are levels above Samuel Vargas. Ortiz should face some more S. Vargas level guys or a little better.

He's made a very wise move. He mentioned only the contenders. You see that he didn't call out any of the current titleholders like Crawford, Spence and Pacquiao.

Redkach would be another good move. Redkach beat old washed up Alexander and Danny Garcia went 12 rounds with him. Ortiz jr. - Redkach could be a good fight, Ukrainian had too much respect against Garcia.

He's ready for anyone, however they would all be very tough fights. The hard part is trying to find good opponents for him to gain more experience and evolve as a fighter without throwing him in the deep end just yet, though I'm sure an early loss on his record wouldn't mean much as he is so young (21, 22 years old?). I think Thurman and Garcia are 50/50 fights, this kid has it all - intelligence, speed, power, durability etc. but I think Spence is too soon for him and Spence will only get better as he comes back from injury.

I think Vergil is the best young prospect in boxing, we might be looking at the future WW, SWW and MW unified champ. Him and Vargas are both complete warriors and the way he dismantled Vargas was so darn impressive, and add the fact that he is so young just makes it even more impressive. Rare to see someone with such talent at such a young age combined with intelligence and humbleness, his father has raised a good son. Looking forward to watching this kid, surely not one to miss, get on the bandwagon now.

Love the kid's attitude. He's willing to take risks. GB should move him a long wisely. I think Ugas is a good yet dangerous fight for him. I'd like to see him go rounds with a fighter that won't go away like Vargas, but presents more issues offensively. Ortiz can't blitz the fighters at the top of the division the way he's done his opponents recently.
